I received a recall notice for an airbag problem with my Honda civic. Booked it with Carter Honda and when I dropped the car off they told me they would perform a free mechanical inspection. When I picked the car up I was told that a front motor mount had "collapsed" and needed replacement to the tune of $540.00. I declined and took it to my mechanic who found that the motor mount had not collapsed and was still working properly.
This was an exaggerated and alarming report with the implication that I could do serious damage to the car if it was not repaired. If I did not have a reliable mechanic to tell me otherwise I would be out $540.00. Be wary of "free mechanical inspections" from Carter Honda.

We bought our vehicle at the Carter Honda Burrard location.
We are so happy with Sami O. who helped us find the car based in our needs.
We live in Burnaby and went to visit other car dealers but we are so much pleased with our overall experience here and all the staff.
Sami O. as a sales consultant is very professional, very informative, takes his time with every bit of information he gives and not pushy type of guy. Sami doesn't make us feel pressured in making our decision in getting our vehicle.
I would still come back to this location if I had to purchase another car in the future.
I would definitely recommend and give 5 star credit to the people who works here.
We are a happy customer and this is our way of appreciating and sharing our excellent experience with Carter Honda Vancouver.

just bought a used honda civc from carter honda. Had a great experience, Bryan Taylor and Jug were very helpful in my purchase of my car. I originally did not want to buy a car from a dealership as I did not want to haggle over the price and condition of the car. But Jug, who works at Carter Honda, convinced me that the dealership would provide me with a great car at an excellent price, and no hassle.......I originally did not believe this. But when I got to the dealership, they already had a car picked out for me, it was exactly what i was looking for....a Honda civic, with very low km's and in excellent condition. Bryan was very good and made me feel at ease. After taking the car out for a test drive, I knew the car was in great shape. Back at the dealership I did absolutely no haggling over the price, when Bryan told me the price I bought the car on the spot. Jug and Rashid had worked out a price for me, and when Bryan told me the price, i just could not believe it. I had looked on line at private owners selling their Civics and they could not beat the price and condition of the car i bought. The paperwork was fast and simple, i was able to pick up the car the very next day and drive away with it. Great experience.

Me and my girlfriend had bought a civic from Pedro at carter Honda, and at first were happy to receive our new vehicle. Later we realized that he would say anything to have us just sign to buy the car. He told us it was a certified used vehicle, but later we were told that the 2015 Hondas were not certified, and that he should have known this from the beginning. He also assured us that the satellite radio feature was available for one full year, which was an option that we really liked and had a hand in our decision to buy it rather than another civic we had seen from richmond Honda. This also turned out to be a lie. I understand their willingness to sell cars and having owed a few Hondas in the past I've always had a certain level of respect of how they conducted business as a company. But having been lied to and not realizing it until it was too late has really killed my confidence in the this company. Later I also realized they had given me an owners manual for a odyssey instead of a civic. And when we tried numerous times to contact them to get the correct one, we were told every time that someone would call us back but no one did. It took them a whole month of badgering just to receive what was promised with my car, a correct owners manual. They also took no responsibility about the lies that the salesman had told us about the salt elite radio. They said since the salesman was no longer with the company there wasn't anything they could do. Maybe they should hold their salesman to a higher standard.
I can see by the other reviews that I am not the only one with an issue with their customer service. I think this speaks widely about how this dealership conducts their business.

Agreed to buy a 2007 Honda minvan from Carter Honda on Monday and left a security deposit with agreement to picup the car on Thursday. Before agreeing to buy the car I inspected the tires and based on their own 150 point inspection the fronts were are 85% and rears at 75% which I inspected and was very happy with. Go to pick up the car on Thursday only to realize that the rear tires are not the ones that were on the vehicle on Monday. once it was pointed out they all pretended that they did not know what had happened. They called their machanic over and he inspected the tires and confirmed that the rears were only at 25%. This was not the only thing. They did not have the wireless headsets that came with the car and they wanted me to pick them up later. I was fine with that but asked them to put in writing that the headsets would be in working condition. They refused and gave me the song and dance that you are buying a used car and we cant gaurantee it would work. Not to mention that I also found out they had advertised the same car with multiple prices. I was able to find a Craigslist posting that had the car listed for $100 less than what I was able to negotiate. How ethical is that. Ofcourse anytime I raised my concerns they tried to blame the salesman and his lack of experience. Overall a very bad experience. These guys wasted my valuable time. I am going to start an online / social media campaign that will tell as many customers as possible to stay away from these guys. Spend a little more somewhere else but at least you know that you are not being lied to and treated this way. These guys dont care about the customer and the experience....they will do anything to make a buck...even if that means stealing tires from a car that you have agreed to buy.

I really had a great few visits to the service dept. The first time I thought 'well let's see how the next appt turns out'. I've been back 4 times now with nothing but great service. One time it did take about 30mins longer than expected but that's understandable. Good job Carter! See you for my next service!

It all started days after our purchase. Payed $30k(2007 36000km) for an odyssey, find out it didn't have an owners manual. Contact the dealer, they want $130 for one. Days pass and things start coming unglued, literally. Those stupid straps that you pull to make the chairs fold all start ripping out of the seats.
Had it for less than a year, recall. Two months after the 1st recall, the 2nd recall. Month or so after that, servicing. $270 to get it serviced, have to go back yet again because some of the parts weren't in. They straight face lie about the pasrts being under warranty/0.00 ( as it appears on the invoice ) . Go back when the parts are in, they want another $150, not under warranty apparently. When I decline the service they admit its not something that even needs done before the next servicing.
I call today to ask what a dashboard warning light means ( yellow seatbelt ) , they respond, ' could be many things ' come in and we'll have a look. Could cost around $75 to replace the seatbelts '. I went out for further investigation, car seat mat was depressing the seatbelt release button.
The place is a classic used car lot and the service dept. is a typical rip off mechanic shop. I keep expecting to see Larry from 3's company working there.
