Very Disappointing Experience with Toyota Surrey Jim Pattison Auto Body

I would not recommend Toyota Surrey Jim Pattison’s Auto Body and Repair Services based on my experience.

My 2025 4Runner was brought in through an ICBC claim, and what was supposed to be a straightforward repair turned into a 13-week process filled with delays, poor communication, and disappointing workmanship.

I was initially given a completion date around the first week of June. Three weeks passed with no update or phone call. Every time I contacted the shop, I was unable to get a clear answer about when my vehicle would actually be completed. It wasn’t until I reached out to their General Manager that things finally started moving again.

When the reported completion date came around, I received a call from the rental car company at the end of the day Tuesday, telling me I had to return my rental because the shop had reported to ICBC that my 4Runner was completed. The problem? I had received no call or update from the shop.

The following Wednesday, I had to go to the shop personally just to find out what was happening, only to discover that my vehicle was still not finished. I was then told it would be ready the next day because they were still completing the paperwork.

Thursday came. I waited until 2 PM for a call—again, nothing. I had to call them myself to get an update.

After waiting 13 weeks, I finally got my 4Runner back, but unfortunately, the repairs were not completed to the standard I was promised. The front bumper paint does not look properly finished, and there were missing clips on the front fender, causing it to be loose.

I was told they would contact me to arrange the replacement of the missing clips and fix the issue. Over a week has now passed, and once again, I have received no call or follow-up.

I understand that repairs can sometimes take longer than expected, especially with insurance claims. What I find unacceptable is the lack of communication, repeated delays, having to constantly chase for updates, and receiving the vehicle back with issues that should have been addressed before completion.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Toyota Surrey Jim Pattison Auto Body and Repair Services. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves both their customer communication and quality control.

I got my 2020 Toyota Corolla here and now I have my 2026 Toyota Rav4. Customer Service was definitely on top! I initially enquired first online to see if there are any bZ inventory and looked for the sales advisor that helped me 6 years ago, and minutes later I got a call. When we arrived at the dealership, Rolando ensured that we get a car that is fit to what we are looking for. While there is limited inventory, he was very accommodating showing me what options I have and I am truly grateful for that. I was hoping to get the PHEV RAV4 but unfortunately only the hybrid is available. When I got the rav4, there were some issues and I had to bring it back to the dealership the next day and they were able to fix it within 30 minutes. Thank you for your help Rolando and the service team!

Kolando at Jim Pattison Toyota. My experience with Kolando was great, he is a really helpful and great salesman. He helped with teaching us about the tech and features of our brand new RAV4 GR trim. It felt like he knew what he was doing and making the process easier for us to understand, showing us his professionalism.

I am writing this review to document a serious concern regarding the accuracy of information provided during my visit to this dealership.

I came in to trade my exceptionally clean, low-mileage 2023 Toyota Tacoma Off-Road in Lunar Rock and purchase a new RAV4. During the process, I was informed that because I am on a work permit in Canada and not a permanent resident, I would not qualify for financing, despite having a strong credit history.

Based on this information, I was guided toward a different vehicle and proceeded with a trade-in decision that I would not have made under different circumstances. I later came to understand that the situation may not have been clearly or accurately communicated, and this directly influenced a significant financial decision on my part.

After following that guidance, I ended up purchasing a vehicle that was not actually the one I wanted. Within only a few days, I had to sell that vehicle to another dealership at a substantial financial loss in order to correct the situation.

The outcome was the loss of a rare and highly desirable vehicle that I was very satisfied with, along with avoidable financial damage caused by decisions made based on inaccurate or unclear information.

My concern is not simply the financing decision itself, but the accuracy and clarity of the information provided during the sales process.
I strongly believe customers should be given precise, transparent, and verifiable information so they can make fully informed decisions. I encourage others to independently confirm financing requirements and not rely solely on verbal guidance during the sales process.

I had a good experience with Wajdi. He was very respectful, honest and very knowledgeable. He kept me informed of when my vehicle arrived and was prompt with follow ups . The finance manager was very professional and knowledgeable. Other than a few occasions of miscommunication on their part which they promptly apologized and compensated, the overall experience was pleasant. If you want good customer service I would recommend you ask for Wajdi.

Had a bad experience with Services area. I’ve come to my appointment due to a noise in my car and after a few hours the responsible person gave me the feedback that the problem was the engine mount and it would be done. Everything was fine and I went home to pick up the car the next day.

After some time on the next day, the service person texted me saying that instead of changing the engine mount I’d have to replace many other undercarriage parts and the cost (that was covered by warranty at the beginning) would now be $8,000 (EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS).

Now explain something to me: how can a service area professional say that an engine mount needs to be replaced if they didn’t even check underneath the car?? How come a professional company like TOYOTA give me such a wrong information making me go home calmly and then changing the WHOLE STORY and charging me $8000?

Regardless of the end of this shameful story for your SERVICE DEPARTMENT, please be aware of how you do your services so that you can be more respectful to your clients, since you are representing a great brand like Toyota.

Changing now to 1 start because after all that, when I called the body part shop the staff had zero empathy to try to solve any problem AND ASKED ME TO CALL SOMEWHERE ELSE. Great job you’re doing here Toyota. 👍🏼

One of the best dealerships I've visited in my fifty-six years of browsing, car shopping and warranty service. Jeff, the dealership manager is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful as I've dealt with him on three separate occasions. Mario who is a service advisor is by far the best service advisor I've ever encountered, at any dealership. Both Jeff and Mario are definitely huge assets to JP Toyota.

I went with my Mom to look at cars...just look at options for her and without any pressure or aggressive tactics, Rolando helped my Mom find the perfect car.
