I have heard stories about Canadian Tire Auto Service being one of the worst so I have avoided using their service. However, this year I decided to give them a chance by have this location perform my rust proof and tire change to winter tires. Pretty simple I thought! If I had the right tools I could do it myself. Well, I was wrong in assuming they were capable. nMy tires were in bags indicating which location they came from so when they got swapped, it had to be rotated. Well, no rotation was done. My winter tires were put back in the same spot on the car, even though the tires were clearly marked indication they should be rotated. I could have done that myself!!nnSecondly, after my rust proofing (which I gave ample time to complete - over 2 hours), my car smelled like chemicals, my windshield was foggy, my car had smoke on the inside when I started to drive and my door handle had spray marks from the chemicals used. Never in my life did I think I would experience this! So, I had to go back to Canadian Tire to explain the situation, and at that point the employee felt compelled to explain the reason for the smoke and I would need to drive for four hours before the smell goes away (it's been 2 weeks and I can still smell it). Giving me that vital information before the rust proofing or even after would of been helpful. He offered to have my windshield cleaned, obviously because I could not drive like that. nnI had rust proofing done before and the experience was the complete opposite of this. No smoke, no chemical smell (my car smelled like bubble gum all winter, it was a pleasure to sit in it), no chemical residue on my door handle and no chemicals on my windshield. so very disappointed in Canadian Tire.By the way, every time I open my car door or trunk I have this chemical on my fingers..Fun huh!nnI currently hold a Canadian Tire Mastercard and it will be cancelled. And well, they confirmed all the horrible things being said about them. So much for proving everyone wrong.
