I recently rented a vehicle from enterprise in Airdrie as my truck was finally being fixed for hail damage. The rental was totally covered by my insurance company and when I picked the truck up everything went smoothly. I declined their insurance which runs between $13.99-$29.99 a day depending on the vehicle (the glass specific policy is $13.99) as this rental truck was going to be sitting in my driveway for the majority of the rental and the insurance at that rate would have cost $223.84 this was apparently a mistake. During my rental period temps here in Alberta dipped to -30 and of course my luck the windshield cracks along the bottom due to the temperature change while the truck is warming up, to be honest I didn’t think much of it as this is Alberta, its cold, this happens. Upon returning the vehicle I was informed that I would need to pay $300.00 to have this windshield replaced! I was shocked in my mind this is the cost of doing business, If the damage had been a shattered windshield that occurred due to my negligence, I would understand paying for it. This was a crack across the bottom two inches of glass caused by a crazy drop in temperatures. They would not budge, and my credit card was changed the $300.00. While trying to dispute this claim with their head offices I was informed that they cannot control the weather and if there had been a hailstorm during my rental period and the vehicle had been totally written off, I would be responsible for that cost as well. So, I guess I have learned my lesson and will always take the insurance as this appears to be an industry wide standard but on principle, I will never rent from Enterprise again as they seem to base their business model on ensuring all their liabilities and maintenance costs are passed on to the customer one way or another. Its either their $223.00 insurance or a $330.00 windshield.

Really disappointed with my service from Enterprise. I live maybe 30 minutes from Airdrie and they wouldn't pick me up, so I guess the slogan "Enterprise, we'll pick you up" should really be "Enterprise, we'll pick you up as long as it's less than 30 minutes away"
Anyway, I needed a truck to rent to replace my truck that was stolen and my insurance lady told me Enterprise would call me within 30 minutes to an hour to make arrangements. No one called. I contacted them the next day and they said they had a car I could pick up. I said I don't want a car, I NEED a truck. My 4 kids are in a BMX program and I need to transport bikes and my one kid is in a band and plays drums and I need to move drums and other band equipment. They said they would have a truck the next day. I waited. No one called the next day, I called them the following day, Saturday but they were closed by 12:00pm. Monday comes, still no call back, I call them. I'm told they'll make some calls to arrange a truck. (And they were well aware that I need 3/4 ton not a 1/2 ton) Nobody calls back. Tuesday I call them and they tell me to come on Thursday. Now at this point I've been without my vehicle for a week. I go there on Thursday and they tell me they have a Kia car for me. (Wtf!) I reminded them I NEED a truck. Apparently they had a truck there but it needed an oil change so I couldn't have it. They try to convince me that's it a really nice Kia but it still doesn't work for what I need. So I took it anyway because I need a vehicle and was told by the next day (Friday) or Saturday by closing they'll have a truck for me. So they actually called me back on Friday (imagine my surprise) and said I can come Saturday and get a truck. (Woo hoo) so I double check that the truck will be an equivalent to my f250 that was stolen and capable of pulling a small trailer because I'm in the process of moving stuff from a farm I had items stored at into a storage bay because the farm sold and my friends were moving so I had to move my stuff ASAP, and Enterprise was well aware, I made it clear many times that I need 3/4 ton, not a 1/2 ton and they said no, we have this dodge1500 for you. Well f*#*! That doesn't do me any good. So long story short, I switched to a different company, I'm now working through Budget and within 15 minutes of dealing with them at budget I'll be able to pick up a truck that meets my need on Monday morning. Dealing with a theft and insurance is stressful enough and the people at Enterprises just majority added to the headache and frustration.

So after having hail damage to my own vehicle I needed a rental. I went to the
Enterprise location in Airdrie Ab. and got a 2014 Nissan Titan. After setting up plans to go to Red Deer to watch my daughter play hockey the vehicle started
acting up. I checked under the hood and the belt was blown. I tried contacting
my local agency at 4:30 pm and they were closed. I then contacted the emergency road side assistance person and was told it would be a 2/12 hour wait. They needed to get a tow truck lined up before they could send us a new replacement vehicle. So my family and I had to be inconvenieced by waiting for this. We had to sit in a parking lot with our 7 year old in +24 degree heat. I had asked if they could just send out a replacement and they could wait for the tow truck to arrive and we could be on our way. I was told that their workers can not leave location. We will never ever rent from Enterprise again and will let all of our friends know about the horrible service we received.
