Use to be that bakeries didn't open their doors till their baking was completed. Although I would like to support local business and purchase my scones from Boulangerie in Port Credit I find myself driving to the nearest COBS at the Michaelangelo plaza on Erin Mill Pkwy. Hopefully the owners of Boulangerie will become true bakers at heart and have their scones ready by 8am. Also, anything I do purchase from their bakery I take home to enjoy because they keep 2 or 3 noisy coolers in the restaurant area. The loud noise these freezers give off is really unpleasant!

Marish's used to offer better soups and fresher desserts, I used to go there all the time. They are pricey but you used to get what you paid for. But when they posted they were doing renovations with one day notice, but were really in Aruba doing nothing on the business, we have boycotted the restaurant.

This bakery does NOT know how to conduct business in America!! We ordered a cake (baptism) well in advance to be ready for pickup at 12pm on a Sat. I arrived at 12:10pm and the cake was NOT ready--even after paying for the cake & telling them I was in a rush, I was still made to wait 35 minutes--which made me late for the baptism!!! They OVERCHARGE---very expensive for what you get!! They overcharge for a TINY chocolate plaque; they do not advise of extra fee for chocolate plaque & extra charge for tax, NOR were they going to give me a RECEIPT!!! I will report them to the government as I believe they are not registering payments etc--to pocket $ under the table!!! The owner was not there, so I called later to speak with them to complain--NOT french--with a name like Falinski! He told me, "it's expected to have to wait....just like at a doctor's office"!!!!! A BAKERY IS LIKE A DR'S OFFICE?!!!!!!! I could not believe he said that!!! Furthermore, he said, "what do you want me to do about it?"!!!!!! He did not offer any apologies nor anything to make up for THEIR ERRORS!!!!!! WE WILL NEVER ORDER CAKES/anything else FROM THEM AGAIN!!! THEY SHOULD LEARN PROPER BUSINESS ETIQUETTE FOR NORTH AMERICA!!! Also, they did not make the proper traditional French flan torte we ordered!! NEVER AGAIN, NEVER AGAIN, NEVER AGAIN, PAS ENCORE, PAS ENCORE, PAS ENCORE, MAI PIU, MAI PIU, MAI PIU!!!!

I'm a soup lover. Marish's soup comes with an assortment of fresh bread and butter. All their soup is loaded with flavour. Their foods are not pricey. You can leave a fast food place like *** paying $20.00. I get healthy gourmet eats for the same. The difference is that my money is spent wisely at Marish's.

Lovely spot, European flavor, great food, pleasant staff. Don't hesitate to take your out of town guests if you're after a more up market morning coffee.

I could not believe the price of the items being sold here for such bad quality. I had been in there once before and was not impressed but decided to give it another try just to see. I will not make that mistake again. Freshness should be a priority in the food industry but the food tasted like it had been made a week before. The desserts looked like they were made of wax and I did not want to find out what they tasted like. I will find a better place next time to enjoy a day out in Port Credit while visiting.

That review was totally unfounded. I believe the boulangerie is of utmost quality - very rare to find anywhere -especially in Port Credit! I read that Marish has had extensive gourmet training (internationally at that). I find everything skillfully done and delicious, made with the finest ingredients (real butter and cream - unlike many establishments in the area)! I can only think that this reviewer IS one of the other establishments in Port Credit who feels threatened by the boulangerie's presence!

When someone says the pastries look like they are made of wax, is simply mud slinging. What on earth was on this person's mind. He/she didn't even say what was ordered. The whole thing smells fishy to me. They don't always serve fish..but when they do its great..I've had it.large portions too.
