Dowd installed the roof on our home 15 years ago. We have contacted them a couple of times over the last few years in regards to shingles that have lifted during severe wind storms and they have been prompt and professional in their communication, advice, and repair work. Very friendly and personable.

My townhouse got same roofing replacement with my neighbor at the same time about 13 years ago, my neighbor said 15 years warranty at that time, but when I visited their company, they said no. Finally I let them replace the vent and repair the roof, but Dowd company forgot replace the bathroom fan pipe to insulated pipe, and replaced a smaller vent, and no any response for that in 3 months. Their roofer only wants “easy work to do”. Not a professional work. Don't want to choose DOWD roofing company again.

This company did our roof and one of the employees stepped through our ceiling and created a huge hole

We were told to get a contractor to do the repair and they would take the repair amount off our bill. We asked everywhere and couldn’t find a dry waller to do the work and provide a receipt.

So Dowd Roofing found someone and he came over about a month and a couple months after the damage was done and we haven’t seen or heard from them over the last month. Although we were told the contractor had Covid (supposedly) but that was 2 weeks ago

It’s been months since this happened and we still have a hole in our ceiling with no attempt to create a date to fix it

We chose this company because they’ve been around for many years and we “assumed” they would be professional and resolve any issues that came up

Boy, we’re we wrong

We’ve been trying to deal with a guy named Peter and we heard he may have been the one who stepped through our ceiling but that’s not confirmed. He is the most unprofessional person we have ever dealt with. Embarrassingly unprofessional. I’m not sure if he’s embarrassed or has to pay for the repair himself but he is a nightmare to deal with

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!

How disappointing they came highly recommended and did come out and look at the job and turned me down, who picks and chooses what they want to work on? Business must be awfully good

I have used Dowd on Several Occasions, The last couple times I have used them I got the feeling that I was lucky to be working with them. Meaning I had to be lucky to get a hold of someone and once I did I had to hear how busy they were and how many calls they have been getting and "phew, you are so lucky you got me on the phone."

The last time I used them, it was for a repair and I wasn't so lucky. I agreed to a Time and Material repair. The repair didn't work, so I tried to get a hold of someone, but wasn't lucky enough. I left a message and said the repair didn't work. Then silence, a week or so later a crew show up and repaired it while I was not there(My tenant told me there was some folks on the roof). Unauthorized this time around because no one called me and I just got a bill. I wouldn't have authorized a bill the same size as the first if I had heard from them and they informed me that the T&M was not guaranteed.

They were unapologetic and willing to lose my business. I paid for it all, but it will be the last time I use them for any of my properties. The quality of work is obviously not great for repairs especially for what I paid. Unprofessional because I never got a call that they were coming over for the second time and unresponsive because it's easier to get the Pope on the line.

Something is slipping over there, perhaps a lack of competition is bleeding customer service. Small town, get better.
