We are the sole supplier of blood and blood products used at Owensboro Medical Health System, Ohio County Hospital, Caldwell County Hospital, Crittenden County Hospital, Breckenridge Memorial Health, and Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Each year more than 15, 000 pints of blood are needed to meet the local demands of our hospitals. To date Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center has met that demand with the support of other blood centers. Through a National Blood Exchange we receive supplies when we are low; conversely, we share our resources when our needs have been met. Resource Sharing also allows us to maintain one of the lowest processing fees in the nation - meaning a reduction in your healthcare costs. Over the years, I have developed a passion for our donors as well as our staff. Through them and the examples they exhibit in everyday life, I have been able to see the best of individuals in many of life's most difficult circumstances.
