I had to comment on my first and last experience at this restaurant.
I love seafood and ordered the crabcakes and crawfish combo.
My husband ordered the grilled salmon and my son ordered a steak.
The food took an awfully long time to arrive considering that there were not many people in the place. I received three small crabcakes and a mound of jambalaya rice. Three small veggie stalks - no crawfish anywhere to be seen. My son's and husband's portions were also very small and not anything they would order again. My son did receive a caesar salad and something which was supposed to be a brownie. It was very dry.
We left feeling hungry. We spent far too much money for what e received. Never again.

I love seafood and spicy dishes, so what better way to combine the two then to go to Big Daddy's, a restaurant "specializing" in Cajun and Creole food.

We started out with the seafood fondu. I expected to get a big pot of some kind of sauce and pieces of different seafood to dip in, but it ended up being a seafood stew with bits of pita for dipping. In other words, NOT FONDU. However, the main dish I got definetly made up for the crappy appetizer: Jumbo pecan-crusted shrimps over a bed of spicy sausage-infused rice. I don't think I've ever had anything pecan-crusted before, and at first I was a little wary of it, but it ended up being a nice crunchy contrast to the yummy shrimp inside. My dad got Big Daddy's signature dish...a huge pot of steamed seafood (crawfish, shrimps, crab, etc) and dipping sauces, which ended up being more work deshelling the food than it was worth.

All in all, it was a so-so experience at Big Daddy's. Luckily, we had ended up going on a Wednesday, which meant $2.50 Coronas and all-you-can-eat ribs (NOTE: when you ask for a second helping of ribs, it takes them twice as long to cook them so I think they're hoping you just give up).
