I have been buying Lakeport beer since moving back to Canada and been very saticfied with the taste and price. However my last case(24)was very flat.Going to buy something else today.

I was disappointed to discover that this discount beer made in Hamilton does not taste as good as more expensive premium beers.

You have to hand it to Lakeport. While there are a ton of microbreweries around that really don't try to compete with Molson and Labatt, Lakeport is going toe to toe with them and seems to be holding it's own.
I'm sure, at a minimum, that Lakeport is giving Molson and Labatt fits with their willingness to go to the mattresses on pricing. Their 24 for $24 promotion is huge, and we're seeing that pricing scheme trickle down (or up, as it were).
The good thing about Lakeport is that the beer is decent. The "fair prices" are a pleasant side effect.
And besides that, you can run down to their retail store on Burlington Street in Hamilton and do business with them on your own - no Beer Store required - even on Sundays and holidays. Gotta love that.

i actually like lakeport more than molson canadian or any of those kind of beers. and you definetly cannot beat the price...i started drinking them for the sole purpose that they're cheap, but ended up liking them better than the higher end beers!

Lets be honest, canadian is a gross beer. though it is not my first choice, I too can get down with lakeport (honey)
