Recently bought my wedding gown here. I was impressed with the staff who were willing to go out of their way to help me find my perfect dress. The store is a little small but has a great selection of wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses. Haven't bought my bridesmaids yet but I'll probably get them here based on pricing and selection. I'm sure most people would love the store

The selection of dresses and sizes was wonderful, so I chose to buy my dress, the mothers' dresses and the bridesmaid dresses here. I was often given one price (for an undergarment, shoes or alterations) and when it was time to pay, it was higher. I was made to feel that I must have been mistaken or misunderstood when I mentioned the difference. I had to visit at least 4 times for fittings when it didn't appear any work was done on the dress since my last visit. The mother of the bride dress fell apart on the day of the wedding - the stitching that was done around the zipper when altered came undone. My mom could only wear what ended up being her very expensive dress to the church and had nothing to wear to the reception! It was too late to bring it anywhere to be fixed. My mom was so so embarassed, upset and sad! When we called the shop after the wedding, we were told my mom must have gained weight - even though her last fitting and pick up was 3 days before the wedding and her weight stayed the same for months before!! This was such a huge disappointment. The bridesmaid dress that was altered there also came undone at the bottom hem and across the waist because it wasn't sewn correctly. I would not recommend The Proper Topper to anyone - and have been told of many similar instances from friends and family who have been here recently too - I should have listened.
