Troubled by the discomfort some patients felt getting dental care, he joined the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. He has received enough training in sedation dentistry to become a Fellow in that organization. He was also interested in complex restorative dentistry. The most respected institutions for providing that training are the Pankey Institute and the Dawson Academy, where Dr. Potts has taken multiple courses.
