A professional shop owner will tell the client if a dress looks good, or if it doesn't. The owner of this shop is all about sales. I was charged $200 to alter a dress that was simply too big, and in the end, after 2 tries at the owner trying to alter, I had to take it to my own tailor, and spend even more money. Then, stupidly, I bought a second dress from her, that I needed to return within 4 days of purchase, tags on, unaltered, simply because once I got it home, I realized she had yet again convinced me to buy a dress that looked awful on me. After, spending over $1000 on my wedding dress, (not including her alterations, then what I had to pay my own tailor, which I didn't tell her as I didn't want to hurt her feelings) she adamantly refused to take the 2nd dress back, even after I offered a restocking charge. I actually witnessed her trying to quickly and cheaply rectify a mistake she had made on a young girls grad dress by laying the dress on her dirty floor behind the till and hand sew the dress whole dealing with other people. That may sound noble, but in fact this girl paid to have the perfect dress, as I had, and instead it didn't fit, and she tried to screw thie poor girl on the agreed upon alteration price. Do. Not. Go. Here. No matter how desperate you are.
