You are now part of an organization anchored firmly in the communities we serve and committed to providing reliable, value-added services and programs to our membership. Part of that service means helping you understand what a cooperative is, how it operates, your role within it, and the benefits that come with this unique form of business. Cooperatives are locally owned and operated by the members they serve. They are democratically governed by a Board of Directors elected by the members themselves to represent their voice in the business of the cooperative. The board ensures the cooperative is legally and ethically run according to its by-laws and tariff. When you are a part of a cooperative, you are not just a member, you are an owner. As a GVEC member-owner, you are encouraged to become involved in the business of GVEC through: Electing a District Director to serve on the Board of Directors as your voice in Cooperative business. Taking part in District Meetings and attending the Annual Meeting As a GVEC member-owner, you’ll reap the rewards from capital credit refunds, and stay up to date with the latest electric industry news and local people, places, and events through the GVEC Review found within Texas Co-op Power Magazine, distributed monthly.
