This wasn’t an emergency or anything I just bought a condo and figured it was smart to get the locks changed. I called a guy my coworker recommended, and he said he could come by Saturday morning. He showed up maybe 10 minutes early, which caught me off guard because I was still in sweatpants. But he was super polite, walked through what needed to be done, even pointed out one of the door frames was slightly warped. He rekeyed all three locks, made me four copies of the key, and tightened a hinge on the back door that was squeaky, no charge. I wouldn’t have even noticed that. It all took maybe an hour. Very straightforward, no weird sales stuff. Just a clean job.

So I live in one of those old apartments where the front gate lock is separate from the actual apartment door, and of course I managed to lose the key to the gate. I could see my front door. I was like 20 feet from it, but stuck. Called this locksmith and he asked a bunch of questions about the type of lock, what kind of gate, etc. Then he gave me a quote and came over in like 45 minutes. Took him a while to get through the gate, I guess the lock was more stubborn than he expected, but he didn’t try to bump up the price or anything. Once it was open, I asked if he could just replace it with a keypad, and he actually had one in his truck and installed it the same night. Ended up being a good thing long-term, honestly.
