I had a door to door sales person come to my home today. He was very friendly and had a shirt on that stated "Authorized ADT Distributor" and ID badges stating the same and that the company he worked for was Hamilton Tech Drive Inc. When I questioned whether he was legitimate, he even allowed me to take photos of his ID badge and driver's license to put my mind at ease. Offered thousands of dollars in equipment for a $200 installation fee and reduced monitoring rates. While writing out the contract, he asked multiple times if I would be going away at all during the summer, which started to get me suspicious. I then told him I was going to call the number for ADT that I found online to just confirm he was a legit distributor. He encouraged it, but once I was on the line on hold he called his supervisor and had a loud conversation (I feel so I could hear) with him, just saying I wanted to verify who they were. His supervisor "told" the salesman that I would never get anyone on the line from the main ADT call center in Jacksonville because it was after 5pm and to have me hang up and he would give me a number to call. When I called the number they provided, the initial answering message said only "Thank you for calling, please hold." It did NOT identify itself as an ADT line. Once someone answered she said "Thank you for calling the authorized ADT distributor verification line, how can I help you?" I gave her the name of the company and she said "I have searched the database and can verify they are an authorized dealer." It was very sketchy, especially since they gave me the number to call. After I hung up I asked about cancellation. He tried to work around my question by asking why I was asking about cancelling, and that I shouldn't take the deal if I was going to cancel it. I said anytime I sign a contract, I want to know what the rules are for cancellation. After much prodding he showed me a portion of the contract and said, "There it says you can cancel." I took the contract and read it and it said I could cancel "After paying out the service fees for the initial contract period." I then asked him what the initial contract period was. He was hesitant to tell me. Finally he told me it was five years. FIVE YEARS. So if I didn't cancel within the first 10 days I was locked in for 60 months in payments. At that time, I told him I did not want to sign up and I shredded the contract and all the information he had collected. After he left, I called back the ADT number I had been on hold with when he had encouraged me to hang up. The representative there not only said that this company is NOT an authorized ADT dealer, but took a report from me on the business name and description of the sales person and they will be looking into it. Warning to others: they are not legit ADT dealers.

Hamilton Tech Drive doing door to door and signed me to contract with ADT-largest security in north america. Contract dated Aug 18 2014. Next day I found out salesperson-Barry Riggs made some untruthful statements regarding other security companies. The contract specified a ten day cooling off period. Barry said no other company can sign us up to ADT but I phoned ADT office in Hamilton and was told they have their own sales staff. Also ten minutes after Barry Riggs left my house his service dept. Showed up nd installed door sensors, smoke detector and motion detector. I tried contacting Barry until I was told by Sherry in HTD administration that Barry was off. The owner Carmen said no refund($112) or cancellation of contract

HORRIBLE company!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Charged us two fees of about $35 for about a year until we realized and then it took forever to get our money back.

Now our contract is up and we cancelled service and they wer STILL taking mooney out of our bank account.

STAY AWAY from this shady company....horrible customer service and administration!!!!!!
