Very dissapointing experience, very bad service, very rude owner/manager, food has no taste and it is very pricey, tapas which are $9 bucks are so very small, for example on of the tapas is just portobello mushroom head and this cost $ bucks, another one: 2 tiny scallopos - $9 bucks, and this goes on and on. Our evening was ruined

I visited Casa Barcelona recently with bunch of friends and I have to confirm that owner of this place is a clown. He is rude but he thinks he is funny and he is a jackass.. The waiters who can barely speak English (russians or ukrainians by accent) who has no experience in this profession at all. They told us to write on the piece of paper our orders and our names and they could not even pronounce our names correctly. Every time someone ordered a drink or something they were asking about the name. We felt like we are being interrogated. The food you can call "upscale" only because of the price. For example portobello mushroom head which makes one of the tapas is $9 CAD. All the tapas are very, very small and price for what they serve to you should be $3 max but not $9. 2 small scallops tapa(which were very salty) cost $9 too. Overall experience - very badly managed restaurant, very bad, non-experienced service, not very good and way overpriced bad food. Our party was spoiled because of choosing this restaurant. We regret we did not go to Swiss Chalet where food is way cheaper, much better and there is friendly professional staff. I will never go there again!

I guess this restaurant changed the owner as I heard it was pretty good 6 years ago.

The review by strawalker serves only to typify him as an uneducated peasant who should clearly stay at home and serve itself dog or cat food or what other offal animals like that eat.
Having eaten there weekly since its inception I am in a position to state without fear of contradiction that the food is excellent and the wine list extensive.
The comment about the waitress only serves as further evidence of the incivility of the source of the meaningless so called review.

I had the stewed rabbit, which had a slightly rancid flavor and a gelatinous grey color, it was accompanied by some flavorless and colorless saffron rice and a medley of bland mixed greens. My wife ordered the mussels in white wine sauce, which strangely smelled like a goat, as did our waitress---honestly (no seriously)! My son ordered the Traditional Paella I refuse to describe this dish only to say that it appeared to have the correct ingredients and yet somehow failed to live up to even a moderate attempt and the real Spanish treat. All this glorious goo and poor service to boot for a hefty $100 clams, ignore this review at your own risk, but don’t say I didn’t worn you.

You can tell that the Chef and owner of this restaurant is not Spanish. The food is definatly lacking any sort of authenticity and the service was sad (to be kind).
