First, I could not be more impressed with Dr. Nawabi and his team at HSS. I always felt as though I was a priority, both from the care team as well as the clerical staff. I was diagnosed with an FAI impingment and a torn labrum in my hip and elected to undergo a hip arthroscopy to repair the joint. Having never had a surgery and also being a marathon runner i was quite nervous for the procedure and the recovery. Now that I'm seven months post-op and have returned to running pain free, I couldn't recommend this procedure and Dr. Nawabi enough!

Also wanted to give a huge shoutout to Jon Schectman and Selina Cortez, both team members were unbelievably responsive and helpful throughout this process.

Dr Nawabi is first and most importantly a great surgeon. I was a more complex hip arthroscopy and fully trusted him from the moment I met him. His calm demeanor and friendly bedside manner put me at ease. I am a very active person and felt a difference in my hip pain as soon as I was off crutches and increasing my activity level through walking and eventually my normal weighted workouts. This past week I was 7 months post-op and got back on a horse for the first time in years,. The best part was it was pain free. I am hopeful to return to soccer this fall and feel confident that my hip will be strong and stable enough to withhold that level of impact and activity. This is all thanks to Dr Nawabi and his amazing staff at HSS. I wouldn’t trust anyone else.

At 57 years old, I had total knee replacement on my right leg on 10/28/25. Now as I approach my almost 6 months anniversary, I have to say it was a life changing surgery.

Having done extensive research into several potential surgeons, finding the highly acclaimed Dr Nawabi at HSS was the single most important decision I have made in this process.

He was informative, supportive, encouraging, and extremely helpful in getting me to understand what I was facing.

The knee has all but healed, the scaring is almost zero, the pain gone, and the last of the discomfort almost all in the rear view mirror.

That first month out was hard, the hardest journey I have faced medically, but from the vantage point where I now stand, I’m grateful where I had the surgery and who the surgeon and his team were.

Choosing the right surgeon matters. And I choose the right one in Dr Nawabi at HSS.

I am an active 42 year old female and I tore my ACL playing football with my kids. Dr. Nawabi performed a cadaver ACL reconstruction with LET procedure.
Dr. Nawabi is a very attentive doctor and extremely skilled surgeon. He talked me through the various options for surgery and answered all my questions until I understood everything. The surgery went smoothly and I healed very well. My scars are flat and smooth and I have excellent range of motion. Mt hip flexor and quad are taking a somewhat longer time to get back to my baseline strength than I expected, but I am progressing along very nicely. I am running and dancing at 7months post op and am looking forward to skiing this winter at 13 months.
Also, his team is excellent. Very responsive and professional. Made me feel important and well cared for.

Update: I had a great ski season 13 months post my ACL surgery with Dr. Nawabi. I was able to ski all my usual terrain including off piste and double diamonds! My knee has recovered well and my physical therapist and I worked hard to strengthen my leg to get me ready. getting back to dancing once I was cleared by PT was also so helpful in recovering my balance, proprioception and strength.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Nawabi. I knew from my first appointment with him that I was in the best hands. I had ACL reconstruction with LET and Dr. Nawabi made the entire process incredibly smooth from beginning to end. He explained every step of the way and helped me to achieve my goal of returning to skiing just one year after surgery. I am so grateful for his care and for the entire team at HSS. Dr. Nawabi is truly the best of the best! If I could give him 10 stars I would!!
