Evidenced based programs provide prevention, intervention, and postvention support to the community as needed. Since CHADS inception in 2005, CHADS has provided suicide prevention education to 104,715 individuals, family support services to 460 families, 374 support group sessions, and bullying prevention services to 11,717 students. In the 2015-16 school year alone, CHADS reached 37,063 individuals through school outreach programs, collaborated with 159 schools and organizations across the St. Louis region, and assisted 235 families with emotional support services and practical guidance for accessing services for depression, suicide or bullying. CHADS gave 1,046 SOS presentations to 26,638 people, with 12.1 % or 2658 individuals self-reporting they needed help for themselves or a friend due to depression or suicidal thoughts. Students and teachers in schools that have fully implemented the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program for one semester or longer report an average 37% reduction in bullying behavior. Without the generous support of the community, this work would not be possible. Read more
