Upstairs at this plush Golden Age movie palace, sophisticated cuisine and retro cocktails have top billing.

Was lucky enough to be celebrate my 50th birthday at the Cathay Circle.
We got our reservation in early and when we arrived we were totally blown away by the amazing venue.
The service was second to none, the food was even better and the Cast Member made our meal even more memorable.
We highly recommend this experience if you are in DCA.

The top restaurant in DCA. It is highly recommended to make a reservation ahead of time. The quality of the food, atmosphere, and service are impeccable. I have never had my glass of water refilled so fast, they have servers walking around ready to refill at any moment. The food was perfectly made and presented, everything tasted delicious and had big portions. Wonderfully decorated with lots of seating as well as private dining rooms.

Food: 3/5
Service: 3/5
Ambiance: 3.5/5
Portion to Price: 2/5
Overall: Came here for a nice sit down dinner.
The extended review...
Food:
Duck Schnitzel- 3/5 - An interesting dish. Definitely wouldn't have imagined something like this. Since I'm a big fan of duck I went for this dish. Pretty standard fare.
Service: 3/5 - Standard service.
Ambiance: 3.5/5 - We sat outside on the patio since we didn't have a reservation. The outside wasn't as glamourous but the interior was definitely nice.
Portion to Price: 2/5 - Pricing was a little pricier since you are at a sit down restaurant in the park.

Got a last minute random reservation.
Two of us ordered against the $62 pre-set meal:
pasta $62
bread $14
IPA $17.25
shrimp entree $62
The meal included a salad and soup.
Ambiance was nice. Service was slow. Food was ok.
Bill ended up to almost $200. Could be a nice change from regular Disney food, but likely won't come back.
Menu is pretty limited.

Carthay Circle is a contender for the best restaurant at Disneyland. It is hands down the finest restaurant.
They lean into seasonal ingredients harder than any other establishment on the property, and utilize more advanced techniques. This makes the menu absolutely excellent, and always interesting.
The standouts are the parker house rolls, served with a seasonal compound butter (the calabrian chili was my favorite), as well as anything that takes international inspiration. They know what they're doing and respect the origin and the craft.
The wait staff is obviously trained in hospitality, though sometimes can feel stiff. But your water glass is never empty, and they are meticulous with the silverware.
Add all this on top of a beautiful location that pays homage to some of Disney's earliest premieres in an elegant setting, and of course you're going to have a great experience.
It's hard to pick a favorite between here and Blue Bayou, emotionally; but Carthay Circle is absolutely technically better.
And as a side note, it's the only place in either park where you can get an espresso martini made with real espresso!
