I enrolled my son at this daycare for 8 months following the suggestion of a paediatrician that my son needed to be in an ECE program as he was diagnosed with Autism. Socialization with other children in his opinion was the very best therapy to help him; however, this daycare was the worst place he ever could have attended.

There were some wonderful staff who worked there, but unfortunatly the employee turn over was so high, as even the staff knew that the facility was very poor.

The previous supervisor was negligent and on one occasion slammed my sons fingers in her office door (after repeated warnings to keep it shut). His two finger nails were severed completely in half. When I saw his fingers later that day I was told, "Boys will be boys" by her and was expected to accept that answer. She did not tell me he was hurt or even file a report about the incident. I didn't accept this.

I went to the board of directors, wrote letters, had strict guidelines for his care to be followed and even went so far as to file a serious occurance report with the Ministry of Ontario.

The daycare was dirty, unorganized and my son had 3 different enhancements workers during his short time due to a lack of training. Many of the staff refused to stay working for the business any longer and quit one after another.

After signing 9 accident reports in 6 weeks, and the board still not hiring adequate and reliable staff, I was forced to remove my son.

I know that the supervisor at that time is no longer the supervior, but she is still an employee and now works on the floor with the kids.

I would not recommend this business to anyone who has children in need of care. Whether your child is neurotypical or not, seek home care or check out the other "daycares" (full day facilities) in other towns.

Very glad you shared this review with the rest of us. It really is the hardest thing, being able to find a place where you can leave your child, feeling confident that they will be loved & taken care of safely! :)

That's horrible and to think it happens in a small town!! I think people like you are necessary to bring things to the table where others simply look away; this continues a down-spiralling existence on the care of our children! Good for you for filing, and most importantly, good for you for pulling your child out: you thought of your child first! Maybe you should consider haveing your own daycare....you sound like you could show this place a thing or two about the quality of care our children need -- especially in your son's concern.....great. And to the point. :)
