I rarely leave negative reviews, but after my experience with Keystone Custom Homes, I feel a responsibility to share it so prospective buyers can make an informed decision.

My biggest issue involved a drainage problem on my property that I believed created a serious safety concern. Rather than addressing it promptly, I spent months trying to get Keystone to take the issue seriously. Over the course of the process, I sent nearly 100 emails before meaningful action was finally taken. In my experience, it seemed that progress only occurred after repeated escalation and discussions of potential legal action.

Communication was equally frustrating. On multiple occasions, contractors entered my property to perform work without notifying me beforehand or obtaining my permission. Regardless of the reason for the visit, I believe homeowners deserve advance notice before someone comes onto their property.

My concerns go beyond my own lot. I currently serve on the Board of our homeowners association. Although the association exists, Keystone still controls it because the community has not yet been turned over to the homeowners. As board members, we have little authority to resolve issues or hold the builder accountable.

One of the most frustrating examples has been the condition of the community's common areas. This is a high-end neighborhood with homes that sell for well over $1 million. Yet there were extended periods when common-area mowing and maintenance were not performed to the standard I believe homeowners should expect. The HOA repeatedly raised concerns, but because Keystone still controls the association, homeowners had very limited ability to address the problem. I'll be including photos so people can judge the condition for themselves.

For a builder selling luxury homes at this price point, I expected exceptional quality, responsive customer service, and accountability when problems arose. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite. I felt like I had to fight for every conversation, every update, and every repair.

Every builder will encounter warranty issues from time to time. What distinguishes a great builder is how they respond. Based on my experience, Keystone consistently fell short.

My recommendation, based solely on my personal experience, is to look very carefully at other builders before choosing Keystone Custom Homes. I would not build with them again, and I cannot recommend them.

Overall, we’ve had a great experience with Keystone. There are lots of options available. They are essentially endless. The follow up after closing regarding maintenance/repairs are followed up in a timely manner. Of course there are always some hiccups which are expected when contracting with third party vendors.
One thing I wish we had when building our home was a simulator. It was hard to completely picture how things would look. Although there is a huge gallery of photos to help guide us, it’s easier to be able to see things in real time specific to your choices.

Overall, we are very happy with the overall quality of our home and the choices we made.

We recently built our home with Keystone and had a very positive experience. Their selection of customizations is excellent — we were able to choose finishes and structural options that fit our style and needs. They offer a wide range of interior and structural designs, so customizing the layout and look was easy and enjoyable.

Their project communication was consistently on time, and scheduled meetings and walkthroughs happened as planned. The team was professional during each stage of construction and responsive when we had questions.

Overall, a good experience building our home with Keystone Custom Homes— high-quality options, reliable communication, and solid project management.

We recently purchased a newly constructed Hawthorn Manor home from Keystone Custom Homes, and our experience from start to finish was excellent. The entire process was smooth, well organized, and far less stressful than we expected thanks to the amazing team.

Robyn was incredibly helpful during the initial stages and made the home-buying process easy to understand. Marian did a wonderful job guiding us through all of the design and key selection choices, always taking the time to answer our questions and provide helpful information. Throughout construction, Ben consistently kept us informed with updates and made sure we knew what was happening at every phase of the build.

What stood out most was the team’s communication, professionalism, and willingness to help at every step. We truly felt supported throughout the journey and are very happy with our new Hawthorn Manor home. We sincerely appreciate the great experience provided by everyone at Keystone Custom Homes.

This is my second Keystone Custom Home, my first was built in 2002. When I began researching new homes again, Keystone was the first builder I looked into because of their outstanding quality and workmanship. I also truly appreciate that they offer semi-custom homes, allowing floor plans to be tailored to fit your needs. No two homes are ever the same - there’s no cookie-cutter development feel.

Of course, a lot has changed since 2002, not only in materials but in technology as well. I loved using the app throughout the construction process, which kept me connected with photos and clear communication every step of the way.

Selecting interior finishes was the most fun part, and their showroom made it easy to visualize and bring my new home to life. During the building process, my dad, who was so excited for this home, as we were planning to live here together - sadly passed away. During an incredibly difficult time, everyone involved was so kind, compassionate, and understanding, and they worked with me to keep things moving while allowing space and support when I needed it most.

From Liam, our New Home Advisor, to Eve, our Interior Specialist, and Jay, our Construction Manager, the entire process went smoothly and communication was always excellent.

I’m now settled into my new Augusta Manor and couldn’t be happier with the experience or the final result. Thank you, Keystone Custom Homes.
