With a focus on Christian values, they help individuals recover from drug and alcohol addiction to rebuild their lives and become active members in the community. Revive Ministeries’ Unity Houses are key features of their approach. Participants are invited to live in a clean, newly constructed group home that’s within walking distance from the main counseling building where one-on-one and group sessions are held. In a Unity House, participants have access to all the amenities they need, including a fully operational kitchen, washer and dryer, comfortable beds, and more. With a safe, comfortable environment and a renewed sense of purpose, people are given the resources they need to truly rebuild. Another central component to the Unity Houses is having peer accountability; in a group home, participants in the program get to interact with other people with similar backgrounds and learn from their experiences. By shaping a community around the idea of sober living, people forge lasting relationships that extend beyond the program. The ultimate goal for Unity Houses is to help people regain their independence, which is why members are encouraged to actively participate as good citizens within the community and find jobs while they receive ongoing counseling.
