Product is great but does not compensate for the sub par service and the time you have to spend to get anyone to contact you and have their mistakes corrected. Emails not replied to, phones not answered. Get everything in writing because they change their story. Hold back some of the balance because after your invoice is paid you are no longer on their radar. GM Jimm is evasive when contacted about the issues, "they are so busy", aren't we all. I had to go to social media before I could get a response from the office. My initial deposit was made in September 2017 and still trying to get the last few issues fixed. Days off work just keep adding up. Not worth it!!

Do not use this company. We had a terrible experience with Northern Comfort Windows and Doors. We recently hired Northern Comfort to replace 4 windows in our Kitchen. The existing windows had custom shutter treatments. We asked the Sales Representative if we could replace the existing windows with casement style windows and still use the custom shutters. We were told yes. We asked the same question to the person who came to measure for the installation and once again, he confirmed that the shutters could be used. Upon installation, we were told that the shutters could not be used. We are now faced with having to go and purchase new window treatments for the windows at our own cost. Northern comfort refused to offer any assistance to help resolve this issue other than to reimburse us the $ they charged to put the existing shutters on the new windows. When asked for them to provide better customer service and help make the situation right, we were told that "the fine print in the contract advised that the shutters may not work" and that "they have policies they can't break" It was a terrible experience that is now going to cost us considerable $ over and above the cost of the new windows. There are many, many other window companies out there. I highly recommend that you use a company other than Northern Comfort. They will NOT stand behind their own words!

We just had our installment of our new window replacement from Northern Comfort Windows and Doors LTD and now that all of our windows are Northern Comfort Windows our home looks beautiful!
Our recent installers were Andrew Havlis and his partner Scott...and they were great.
They were professional, courteous, paid attention to detail and kept our home clean during the installation.

I have had most of the windows in my house replaced by Northern Comfort over the past 10 years along with my front storm door. The handle has needed to be replaced twice over those years and each time they have sent someone to fix it within a day or two of me calling! Who could ask for better after sales service? They have been nothing short of amazing! I will continue to call on them for all of my window and door needs along with highly recommending them to my friends and neighbors!

I cancelled my door order with another supplier to give my business to Northern Comfort. It has now been 13 weeks and I have no information on when my door will be installed. I have to call them multiple times to get status updates and no one gets back to me. If you're in a hurry for a door, look somewhere else.

We had an appointment scheduled for sales rep Sean MacKenzie to come out and provide a quote. He didn't show up - no phone call - nothing. Initially went to Northern Comfort Windows & Doors because of their excellent reviews - very disappointed.

Installer was to be here between 8 & 9 am didn't show until 11:00 am. & left at 8 pm that evening had 2 windows to install. Was outside cleaning windows & noticed had set ladder on aluminum capping on basement window & dented & failed to mention this had happened. Installer had to come 2 different days & both times used washroom & my oh my smell was pretty disgusting !!!

Our May 2015 purchase from Northern Comfort was delightfully pain free. Our sales rep, George Brown was polite, well spoken and keen but not pushy. As a result of George's presentation we purchased right away and cancelled the other companies home visits.
Everything promised was delivered, including on time installation. In our new house we will certainly employ the services of Northern Comfort when needed.

We had Northern Comfort replace our front and back doors last December. The salespeople and installers were pleasant and professional. The only issue we have is that some trim on back door does not match the colour of the door and frames. The installer acknowledged this and we were assured by Head Office that it would be corrected (we are still waiting for an update). (#96961)

Northern Comfort installed a North Star kitchen window and patio door for us on April 9 2014.The old (2003) window leaked and had a broken seal and the patio door was frozen shut most mornings throughout our cold Barrie winter.
The installers:
.were on time
.explained what they would do before they did it
.fully insulated and taped around the leveled units
.applied a self stick waterproof membrane under the door sill
.trimmed sealed and caulked inside and out
.asked if we had any questions or concerns
.showed us how to remove screens and remove the window for cleaning
Before I retired I worked for 35 years as a municipal building official and inspected hundreds of window installations. This installation would have passed with ease.

I happened to attend a home show just for something to do and, not specifically shopping for anything. I saw patio doors with the blinds already installed between the panes of glass. There was no one present at the first vendor and, the door had a price of $2000. I then went to Northern Comfort. The salesman really knew his stuff and the price was $500 less. It is a Canadian made product, yeah!!
Installation was prompt and very efficient. The installer kept in touch by phone because he had been delayed in arriving but, kept me informed...Wow, great customer service!!
