Dec 6, 2011 - Placed a service call to BC furnace requesting a service call for replacement of a leaking expansion tank. Asked for an approximate cost during service call booking, and was told it would be less than $200.00.
Tech. arrived, replaced tank at a parts cost of $178.00 which is a 500% mark-up for the part. He than proceded without athority to open up the furnace and said there was soot which needed to be cleaned out. When asked to replace everything and write a report on work that in his opinion needed to be done, he refused, said he was going to red tag the furnace, and that we would have to pay for another service call, without heat for a few days more.
Called the manager who was extremely rude on the phone, telling me, the client to "shut-up", and asking if i had any sense; insisting that the tech would lose his liscence if he did not clean out the soot. Make sure techs only come out and work on stuff you need done.
ENDED UP BEING A $500.00 PLUS BILL.

Last year, some one in city hall decided that mid-efficiency furnaces should no longer be available. A great idea on paper, but in reality many homes need a mid-eff due to the size and extra work required to install a high efficiency. However after contacting BC Furnace, I was glad to hear that at least one furnace company was clever enough to stock up on the mid eff furnaces before they went out of production. Good thinking BC Furnace, and thanks for the problem free installation.

My furnace broke down this winter, and we called BC Furnace. They turned up on time, and managed to fix the problem on the same visit. We've used other companys in the past and they have always needed to have 2 or 3 visits, each of which cost me money. The tech from BC Furnace had a truck full of parts and tools, he said that they carry over $20K worth of gear as they have a policy to try and do all repairs on the 1st visit... Good job!!

I used this company for my furnace servicing. They spent a long time inspecting and checking my furnace, very comprehensive check. They also gave me a free CO alarm when they left.

After getting quotes from numerous HVAC companies we purchased our high efficiency furnace with BC Furnace. They were extremely professional, and managed to completed the job in a very timely manner. Their customer service team followed up with me a week or so later to check everything was ok. I would recommend them to any one.

We would NEVER reccomend BC Furnace to anyone. This company is unprofessional (subcontractors showed up to our house with friends), irresponsible (rushed diagnosis did not identify real source of failure in our system), dishonest (company got caught in lies trying to deflect responsibility to their subcontractors), and negligent as they do not honour their advertised warranty. In short, BC Furnace comprises all of the elements of a consumers worst nightmare. Please take our advice and stay away from BC Furnace right from the start.

very diapointed. Contractor was not professional, he brought a relative and when I tried to put batteries in the themostate it just pulled out of the wall. The furnace shakes and rattles. I had to do a lot of work after he had left. When I comlained they sent someone else who brought friend or family with them. It ended that I could have the original contractor back to look at it. After the original work I didn't want that. When I have a new one put in or any other work I will ask and be sure they are employees of a company ( not B.C. furnace) and not some contractor. In short I am very sorry I went to B.C. furnace.

I had a similar experience with BC Furnace. This company is the consumers worst nightmare. They lied to me and ripped me off. I wish I never heard their stupid ad on the radio.
