I brought in a NEW Omega watch I purchased for my wife - 10th year anniversary - and asked the gentleman in the store to re-size it. What a mistake - he botched the job, placing the watch bracelet on a METAL anvil and using a pin and hammer to remove the links.
His "work" left deep gouges in the side of the NEW bracelet and he had the audacity to charge me $8 for it. I have the pictures to prove it but cannot upload them here.

The store fixes old grandfather clocks and he must be used to dealing with larger pieces.

That's the only reason I could think of to explain why he serviced the watch like a rank amateur.

Very very disappointed. Buyer beware

I've had completely positive experience with Ivan of European Watch and Clock in Guelph. As a collector I know that some clocks cannot be repaired perfectly, others can. Many people don't realise what time and experience is required to disassemble, clean and re-assemble these wonderful old time pieces. My 100-year-old French pendulum wall clock is running flawlessly two years after Ivan's cleaning. My 80-year-old German Westminster mantle clock which he recently cleaned is more accurate than some digital devices: after I adjusted the pendulum it's now accurate to THREE SECONDS IN 24 HOURS. That's impressive. Ivan has been completely fair and honest with me and he knows his clocks.

My experience with Ivan, the proprietor of European Watch and Clock in Guelph has been completely positive. He repaired and cleaned my 100-year-old French pendulum wall clock and two years later it's running fine and quite accurately. My 80-year-old German Westminster chime mantle clock, which he recently cleaned, is, after my pendulum adjustment, accurate to 2 seconds in 24 hours; that's more accurate than some digital devices. As a collector I can tell you that some clocks simply cannot be repaired or repaired perfectly. That said, Ivan has been entirely honest and fair with me and my experience tells me does really good work.

Thought we were getting some quality clock repair when we took our antique clock to be fixed. Boy were we totally ripped off. The guy - Ivan - was totally rude and said it would cost $250 yes $250 to just clean the clock. Fine we said go ahead. You have to pay the entire amount in advance, should have left then, but not knowing better paid it. Waited for two weeks as we were told it would be ready. Called after 4 weeks, and it it still not ready. Finally after much pestering, he said he had finished cleaning it. Took it home and the clock ran 6 minutes slow. Since then have taken it back 6 times and every time he is surly rude, does nothting to the clock and the last time was told "What do you expect for $250 - all mechanical clocks run slow, only battery operated clocks keep correct time.

According to their website they are knowledgeable and experienced. What a load of baloney. The second time I took my clock in Ivan had to call his brother to ask how to adjust it.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE UNLESS YOU BELIEVE IN GIVING AWAY YOUR MONEY
