Honest, competent, and thoroughly professional. Derek took my car in after a terribly botched transmission job by another shop. Derek and his technician Daniel carefully diagnosed, tested, and documented all of the other "mechanic's" shoddy and incomplete work. He dealt directly with Nissan to find a very specific and difficult to source part, even after they repeatedly sent him the wrong part. I can honestly say that this is easily one of the most trustworthy and professional shops that you will ever be lucky enough to deal with, and that is something that you rarely come across nowadays. Derek and his technicians went well above and beyond what your typical shop would do, and you should feel very confident that they will also look out for you like they did me. Even the lady in the office was a delight to deal with. Thanks to Derek and his staff for really saving the day and being so professional and courteous about everything. I will absolutely be back and recommend these guys to everyone.

If you are looking for a shop that will actually take the time to diagnose your transmission problems, AAMCO is probably not the place for you. We had our vehicle towed to AAMCO after it started acting up following a recent transmission swap. Instead of seeing what the actual problem was, we were told it needed a brand new transmission. The current transmission in it is less than a month old. When we brought this to their attention and asked if they could do even a small amount of digging around to see what was causing our issues, we were told that we could spend SIX THOUSAND dollars for them to DIAGNOSE the problem, or we could just spend the 7 grand it would cost to completely replace the transmission. Even at a labor rate of $165/hr, that would mean they were charging for 36 hours of labor, and I can assure you that even for someone without a lift or a transmission stand, it doesn’t take anywhere NEAR that amount of time to drop a transmission and look inside it.

We finally decided to just have the truck towed elsewhere because AAMCO clearly can’t be bothered to actually do anything helpful that doesn’t involve a complete swap. So we were charged $165 for them hooking up a scan tool and reading the codes that popped up (something we had already done on our own, and something you can get done for free at O’Reillys or AutoZone or whatever retail auto shop you prefer, and it only takes 5 minutes). So a warning to people who don’t enjoy being taken advantage of: find somewhere else to take your vehicle if you’re having transmission issues, because AAMCO will just rake you over the coals.

Daniel went above and beyond. I honestly can't thank him enough. I shopped three different transmission shops and chose AAMCO specifically for the nationwide warranty coverage. What I got was so much more than just a warranty.

After my transmission left me stranded in South Carolina, I had the van towed home. Once I talked with Daniel, I immediately felt comfortable, not just with his pricing, but with him as a mechanic and person. Cheaper isn't always better. Real customer service is the gold standard, especially after you've done your research.

A month after he replaced the transmission, I was stressing a little about taking it on a long road trip. I called and asked if he could do a quick check-up the day before I left (I know I should have scheduled it earlier!). Even on short notice, he made the time for me. I made it to my destination with zero issues. The van is running in tip-top shape.

I just wanted to take a few moments to share my 1st-rate experience with Daniel's AAMCO. Initially when I walked into his shop & explain the concerns with my wife's jeep & my believed to be...a transmission problem. Daniel showed a real genuine concern for the issue & wanted to take the situation head-on. After his diagnosis, Daniel was able to repair our Jeep relatively quickly. I must say, his transmission services & very evident personal integrity, was money well spent. Our Jeep has nearly 200K miles, & this is the best it's ever run, since we've owned it.
