My name is Tobin Poppenberg, and I’d like to share with you why it is that I do what I do. I've dedicated my life to artistically documenting those moments that bring joy to us as humans: moments when we are most palpably engulfed in the feelings of love, togetherness, and family. I do this in order to use my artistic gift as a contribution to others. My photographs are my thanks for each breath I am granted. They are my grateful reciprocation for the beautiful life I live. So…I live to preserve and articulate the beauty and delight felt in these lovely moments. For me, there is no higher calling. I believe the key to creating magic with people is in getting related. I relish in being with people; in drawing out the authentic emotion that already exists in us, but that sometimes just needs a little kick in the pants to have it come out and play for the camera. Pretty much the only thing I love more than laughing is making other people laugh. One of my most cherished gifts is my sense of humor and I wield it liberally while I create photographs; bringing wit and levity to every wedding and every shoot so that when people are in front of my lens, they’re at ease and fully self-expressed.
