Just discovered this ultra‑cute and ultra‑friendly bakery along my usual neighbourhood stroll and wow, what a gem.

Phipps Bakery & Dessert Shop, nestled along the groovy and welcoming stretch of Eglinton Avenue West and Russell Hill, is serving up some of the most scrumptious desserts in the city. Walking inside feels like stepping into a fancy European bakery: warm, elegant, and instantly inviting.

I tried a few items, and each one was a hit:

Chocolate Cupcake ~ rich, flavourful icing and a moist, chocolatey cake that totally fulfilled my chocolate fix.

Apple Slice Cake ~ thick, chunky slices of apple with a beautiful cinnamon flavour. Smooth, luscious, and comforting.

Strawberry Rugelach ~ a flakey crust wrapped around a sweet strawberry filling. Every bite was a mouth‑watering explosion.

Strawberry Coconut Cookie ~ thick, chewy, with a bold coconut flavour and a sweet strawberry topping. A perfect combination.

The coffee is also spectacular — rich, strong, and flavourful. A perfect pairing with every dessert I tried.

I had the best time picking up some treats from this bakery on Eglinton. The selection behind the counter is incredible, and everything looks so fresh.

I ended up taking home a box of assorted pastries and a coffee-themed cake that looks absolutely stunning. The cake is topped with chocolate-covered coffee beans, and it tastes even better than it looks. I will definitely be back for more soon.

Just received my 1st order from Phipps Bakery and it definitely won't be my last! I've been ordering from another mid-town bakery but recently saw a review of how much better Phipps was in comparison. That reviewer was absolutely right! The quality and freshness of the cakes and pastries, stood out immediately. Delivery was quick and effortless as well. Think I've found my new "go-to" bakery. Well done Phipps team!

Cute little bakery shop selling baked goods, lots of cakes, warm ready to eat food and dry goods. I tried their “Sin”amon buns and it was soooo good. Taste is definitely there. The bread was a little dense and dry but really good taste. Wish there was more frosting inside teehee

A nice spot. Dropped by when was in the area. Got the quiche they were offering at the hot bar on the day. It was delicious! Got a seat for a bit and felt the sweet vibe.

I bought my friend her birthday cake from here. The strawberry banana cake. It was delicious! Banana bread with delicious strawberry icing. The icing wasn’t too sweet and tasted nice and smooth.
The cake itself was gorgeous. I will buy from Phipps again.

Cute bakeshop that offers many variety of treats and a back section for hot food (with frozen takeaways too). The service is friendly and straightforward. The pricing is reflective of the quality of food you get. Loved the banana cake - even with the buttercream, it wasn't overly sweet - just perfect. Excited to try other cakes and treats here. No seating spots here - it's a grab and go spot.

Cute cafe, with a lot of bakery/dessert and gifts items. This place feels cozy inside. However, some of the desserts we tried wasn't that good. It felt dried and lacked flavour. The latte was terrible, super bitter. They were closing when we went, maybe they rushed it. Also, overly priced for the quality of items - a bag of short bread cookies were $14 (and it wasn't good). The thumbprint cookies looked super yummy, but it wasn't fresh and the caramel on top tasted a bit off - didn't enjoy it and threw it out. When they were closing SO much bakery items were still left behind, maybe they sell those again the next day? That would be my only assumption from how dried many of the items we bought :( and the kids on the cup comes off easily, becareful when drinking. Again for the price of items in the shop, wish it was better quality, I think this place is overrated from our experience.

Neighbourhoods are built and maintained by places like this. Everything I’ve had here is delicious from breads to quiches to soups, cookies, pies, and pastries. I’ve also had birthday cakes made here.

Kind people delicious food decent coffee. They’ll also easily accommodate special orders for special days. This Christmas I got mincemeat, their famous butter tarts, and my father‘s favourite ginger snap cookies.

It's a really interesting bakery. They have wide variety of food choices. To me, it is more at the sweeter side, I tried their cookie and lemon meringue pie. But my son really liked their pie. Very likely will come back to try their savoury dishes.

This is a charming bakery cafe, that's definitely worth a visit if you like sweet treats. It has a great selection of freshly baked, cookies, cakes, pastries and cakes for special occasions. They also sell cookie dough which is really good.
The cakes are carefully packaged and boxed for travel.

Nice bakery with freshly baked breads, pastries, cakes etc. There is usually a queue to follow if you're buying something.
Many of the items are not price marked.

Service was okay, I wanted to look around a bit and check prices but they asked me to get into line without even seeing what I wanted to ask. I didn't want to hold up a line trying to choose which is why I was looking around.

There are many regulars at the store. They even sell additional products like cards, small gift items, paper napkins etc. Overall products are good and it's worth a visit for sure.

This bakery has some good items (bagels), however after having tried their samosas, bagels, spanakopita and pastries, I find that they savory food lacks flavour and was stale/dry. The sweeter items did not leave me craving to come back. 3 stars because service is quick and prices are reasonable. Not excited about going back though..
