Old school vibes. Banquet burgers are phenomenal. Grilled on the spot, this 45 year old staple is the place you go for a great burger.
Not fancy, I don't think the place has been updated in a while but it is absolutely decadent.

True throwback experience! This old-school burger joint has a great retro vibe and serves burgers with that nostalgic, classic taste that’s hard to find these days. If you’re looking for a traditional burger spot, this place definitely delivers. I ordered the fresh burger with bacon and cheese, and it was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The fries were crispy and delicious. I’ll definitely be back!

This is the place for when you want to leave the corporate burger joint behind. This "classic style greasy spoon" has the menu in yellow letters on a brown background. Metal bowls of fresh toppings and a person to fix your burger, exactly how you want it.

The fries are perfect, bringing me back to a simpler time. The homemade burger is delicious. They have milkshakes and a pop selection that rivals any no name convenience store.

Seriously, this place scratches the itch if you are looking for a nostalgic burger experience.

I almost forgot to write a review about this place!

My fiancé talks about how good the burgers are here every time we pass by and I finally got to try it.

I initially ordered the Bacon Burger, but the staff heard me wrong and they rang up the Banquet Burger instead. It’s not a bad mistake though because I ended up liking it anyway. It was very juicy! The fries needed some seasoning.

You can tell this spot is a staple because it was busy left and right, and staff were amazing.

Classic counter-service spot with a warm, welcoming vibe wood-paneled ceilings, speckled granite counter, red vinyl booths, and a relaxed neighborhood feel.

The homemade burgers are a must fresh, juicy, and cooked to order. The French fries are what you would expect a mix of crunchy and soft.
Their shakes are fantastic thick and loaded, and the crazy drink flavours in the fridge are a fun surprise.

This feels like one of those places people refuse to let go because it’s an “institution” but won’t admit it’s overpriced for the poor quality.

Atmosphere is old school diner vibes, love the old booths and vintage menu. Service was fine at the counter but the one employee YELLING constantly really turned me off- snapping at other employees to get them a bowl of pickles, NO I NEED PICKLES!

The “cheese”burger was dry, chewy, and flavourless. I put cheese in quotes because I thought there wasn’t any cheese at all at first, but it was actually just a tiny piece melted under the burger patty into the dry bun. I also got the ick about the condiments they let you choose from, just sitting in bowls on the counter (it’s 2026, get a line fridge).

$6.70 for literally SIX (6)!! onion rings is insane. Yes, they were decent (albeit again, BLAND and the batter on some was so thick you couldn’t even taste the onion under it), but absolutely not worth that price.

Overall, hard pass, would not return, you can genuinely make the exact same thing at home for less cost per portion.

This restaurant serves homemade burgers with fresh toppings. They also offer a whole variety of different dishes as well. My wife and I enjoyed the Banquet Burger with Fries and gravy on the side. We were so full afterwards. Highly recommend!

The burgers lived up to the name and the location was straight out of a movie set—crashing waves, wild roosters, fantastic views, and service befitting of the Ritz-Carlton. While $30 may seem pricey for a burger and Maui chips, you’re paying for the location, the ambiance, and of course, the quality of food and service that only the Ritz Carlton provides.

Nowhere in the US, should a frozen burger, thrown on a griddle, cooked, topped with wilted lettuce, a slim slice of Tomato and American cheese,
and put on a nothing special bun, should cost $32.
Sure the view of the beach is beautiful, but hardly worth ripping people off with a nothing special burger.
A SINGLE burger, Bloody Mary and a coke cost $69.69, with tip.

As a restaurant that has been here for decades, its hard to believe they got a Canadian Classic so wrong! I ordered fries (well done) with gravy no cheese. it came out pretty fast, which was already a red flag! It should have taken longer if they were making them fresh....what I got was fries that were dry and overdone because they just redunked already made fries that were probably sitting in the bin...when I ask for fries well done, do I REALLY have to say: fresh fries please? I would expect fresh fries when paying almost 10$ for something that used to be 3.50$ back in the day?!?! And, they were better back then, they took pride in what they were serving...I feel like this establishment has 'given up" on delivering a optimum dining experience and is just throwing food in a bag...hands down the worst fries and gravy I've had since returning to Toronto in May. Fortunately, I've had opportunities to travel extensively to the US and abroad as a food reviewer and l've had much better "fries n'gravy" internationally in restaurants offering "Canadian Classics". This place is regrettably underwhelming and was not a good foodie experience.

I don't give many 1 star reviews, but the Burger Shack at the Ritz Carlton earned theirs today. Stopped by around 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon, sat down at one of the tables and ordered one of their specials for the day – Smash Burger. Finally had to get up and leave after waiting 40 mins with no food and no indication from the server that my food order was even placed! Needless to say, I'll never return to the Burger Shack.
