He completed his dental training at the University of Alberta in 1986 and practiced general dentistry for 3 years in Alberta before enrolling in graduate orthodontic training at the University of Toronto in 1989. Dr. Boutin holds a Fellowship in the Specialty of Orthodontics with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is recognized by the Alberta Dental Association as a certified specialist. He strives to remain at the forefront of emerging technologies in orthodontics and attends national meetings and orthodontic conventions every year, as a member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Boutin has been active as an executive member of the Alberta Society of Orthodontists and in facilitating local scientific sessions for the Canadian Association of Orthodontists. He has been invited to lecture at the American Association of Orthodontists largest annual meeting. Dr. Boutin and his wife Diane are busy raising four children and they feel privileged to support community projects that focus on families, especially ones like the new Alberta Children’s Hospital.
