Ed and the team at Affordable Waterproofing did a great job encapsulating our crawl space. Ed was knowledgeable, straightforward, and easy to work with, and I never felt pressured.

Old house, New problems…(Built in 1950) Was becoming our normal… After consulting other waterproofing companies, all of which -Said “ Nah, go for the finish, we see no problem “,just down a few things to give yourself reassurance (grade a little, move gutter water ,trim a tree…(3 Tarheel,Carolina,Joe Blow) we went against our better judgement and spent $80k fully finishing out our basement . Fast forward 4 years and countless times water has gotten in… I finally got feed up and started calling around, spending hours on google, ask on fb. I finally found Mike & Ed . It was a rainy Sunday and I was just waiting on the water to come in again. So I called to leave a voicemail and to my surprise Mike answered (on a Sunday!) Had a quick conversation, gave me a straight forward, no fluff ,no promises, other than we’ll come take a look tomorrow. Fast forward again! Today! (2 business days quicker than originally expected) We are finally fully dry! I can’t be more happier. Thanks to these guys we’re only out a few feet of Sheetrock, flooring. But! We’re finally sitting with piece of mind. Huge thank you!

Mike, Ed, and the team did an excellent job stabilizing the foundation in my home. I'd like to have them come back and help dehumidify my crawlspace in the spring!

After I noticed some settlement issues, I called a few companies in the area to get quotes on repairs. AW&FR offered me a very reasonable price, didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need, and I felt no pressure to sign anything. This was not the case with every company, and AW&FR felt they could achieve the same results with half the cost.

The contract was very simple to understand and Ed set very clear expectations on scope of work, date of work, and time to complete, and felt confident this would address the settlement issues.

Mike, Ed, and the team came by yesterday and installed 6 helical piers on my property while having to work around some complications with underground utilities. They were able to lift the house a few inches and I can already notice the improvement in my floors. I have attached a previous crack repair on my brick veneer. After the house lift, the crack sealed itself. They left the work site with the expectations I had and that were in the contract, which was disturbed, level grade soil. The final price was what was agreed to, and there were no surprises.

If you need work done on your foundation and want it done by normal, hardworking people at a reasonable cost, I would highly consider contacting AW&FR.

I forgot about this rating until now but it needs to be changed. Needless to say I wouldnt recommend this place. I called to have my floor joists fixed due to a leaking shower, and it wasn’t until the day of install that I find that they didn’t install them correctly. They literally placed a board beside the rotted piece and nailed it while leaving a gap and some places the nail was driven didn’t connect to anything. When I called back the person I spoke to said he could have used a clamp to close the gap, but apparently didn’t have the thought while in the home. I decided to go with another company to fix what I had already paid to have done right the first time.
