Dr. Yagnik specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow and knee. He is the team physician for the Miami Dolphins and the Florida Panthers. He has served as assistant team physician for the University of Miami and Florida International University football teams. He has also provided orthopedic coverage for Super Bowl LIV, BCS National Championship Game, FedEx Orange Bowl, Miami Open and NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. His experience caring for elite, collision sport athletes provides him with advanced knowledge he uses to treat all of his patients. Dr. Yagnik graduated at the top of his class in medical school and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. During medical school, he performed surgical research that yielded two prestigious grants from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. During his residency, he was elected administrative chief resident and was given the Willard Award for the most outstanding resident. Dr. Yagnik currently serves as chairman of the Department of Surgery at West Kendall Baptist Hospital and was named Physician of the Year for West Kendall Baptist Hospital in 2018. He is also actively involved in medical education as a clinical assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Florida International University and as assistant program director for the Doctors Hospital/UHZ Sports Medicine Institute’s Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. Dr. Yagnik conducts clinical and biomechanical research to advance the field of orthopedic sports medicine and has published numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles. He is currently studying arthroscopic rotator cuff repair in professional athletes. He regularly attends and presents at various meetings, including the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine Annual Meeting as well as the NFL and NHL Team Physician Meeting. Dr. Yagnik’s care philosophy is to treat each patient like family.
