I’m an Ontario custom home builder and I chose Dashwood for my own home about 7 years ago because I’d specified their products on multiple builds. Unfortunately, my entry door/sidelite system has had issues for years, and the bigger problem has been warranty/service follow-through.
After repeated contacts and promises over a long period, the response I ultimately received was mostly “DIY advice” (remove/cut the perimeter tape/mask, try mineral spirits/adhesive cleaner, try Minwax gel stain, read maintenance instructions) and an acknowledgement that certain appearance details I expected weren’t even available in the configuration supplied — something that should have been clarified before delivery.
Product problems can happen with any manufacturer. What matters is what happens next. In my case, I didn’t get a clear on-site resolution with firm dates and accountability.
Bottom line: I do not recommend Dashwood if you expect timely service and a straightforward warranty resolution. If you still buy, get every detail in writing (configuration, finish expectations, who removes protective masks/tape, and service timelines) before you sign.

Terrible company and terrible service. Lied to me about their warranty which they claim is 10 years when I’m fact it’s 20. Trying to get them to repair seal problems on my 2001house. Five windows with broken seals and for a year I have been trying to get service. Excuses. No service. Told them I didn’t care about the warranty that I would simply pay. Still no service. Awful company. I don’t know how they stay in business.

These windows do not seal well enough to keep flies and ladybugs from coming into the frame of the window. Corners of the windows are the worst for entry. The screens have a gap of 1/4 - 1/8 inch around the frame, so the bugs continue to come through the window right into the house. Now spring cleaning the windows for the second year and again the frames of the windows are full of dead ladybugs and flies, and there is a ton of fly and ladybug 'dirt' within the seal of the window frame.
Our house was built in 2014 with casement windows. The old house that was on the same property had 25 year old vinyl windows, and never had issues sealing like these ones do. Same country lot, same number of bugs - its not the bugs.
The outside doors did not seal well enough to keep bugs out either. Dashwood has since come to move the door latch so the doors close tighter. We were thankful they came to service, they were pleasant and efficient on the day they came. However there is still a gap in the top and bottom corner and flies/ladybugs continue to enter the house. We definitely do not recommend these windows, and not the doors either for country homes. Maybe they have less bugs in town? Good people to deal with , but product needs review.

We have renovated and built 4 houses in the last 14 years and in our opinion, DASHWOOD WINDOWS ARE THE WORST that we have ever had.
Even though the windows are closed AND LOCKED, flies and ladybugs come into the house by the dozens.
After our new home was built in 2007, we contacted the DASHWOOD SALES REP who said that this was impossible and implied that we were lieing.
I would never recommend these windows to anyone.
