This is the clean Ottawa store! It's obvious that John, the manager really cares. Everything is neat, and for the most part, the staff are friendly and helpful.

After reading the previous reviews I was expecting this store to be a dump, much like the Fabricland at Hazeldean and Castlefrank. And I was pleasantly surprised to find a clean, open, well-stocked store. If you have ever been to a Fabricland, you know they are not beautiful stores with upscale merchandising. Think more like Old Navy for fabric. And that is why I gave this store 4 stars instead of 5. This store had accessible, friendly staff, and all the patterns I wanted were in stock, even though they were running a huge sale. I will definitely shop here again.

Store is in complete chaos! Nothing is organized and there is dust everywhere. One star for the friendly employee who was at least trying.

Yesterday, December 10, 2009, I was at your Fabricland store at 1460 Merivale Rd, Nepean, Ontario. I was attempting to use my mastercard to complete a $98.36 purchase. I was informed by the store clerk that photo ID was required for all credit card purchases over $70.00. I asked her when the policy changed...She said 2 weeks ago. My main point is that I, as a member,WAS NEVER INFORMED OF THIS CHANGE...even at the cash I did not see anything displayed that would indicate a change nor did I see anything refering to this in the last newsletter mailout. I did not have photo ID with me. I did not have cash, only option was using bank debit card. I found this situation somewhat embarasing. I find this policy change ludicrous. The girl wouldn't accept my credit card without photo ID but she accepted my bank debit card WITHOUT PHOTO ID. I have worked in a bank for approx 22 years and know for a fact that BANK CARDS AND PIN NUMBERS ARE STOLEN AND USED.....HOW DOES THIS GIRL KNOW I DID NOT HAVE A STOLEN BANK CARD?......
YOUR MEMBERSHIP DOES NOT PAY WHEN RESTRICTIONS ARE PUT ON PAYMENTS AND WHEN MEMBERS ARE NOT INFORMED OF THESE TYPES OF CHANGES....ESPECIALLY SO CLOSE TO CHRISTMAS.....VERY POOR WAY OF TRYING TO KEEP CUSTOMERS COMING BACK TO SHOP....A BIG THUMBS DOWN....

To-day was the first time I was in the Fabricland store on Merivale Road. The Staff was very helpful and friendly.I will continue to shop at this store in the future....Marilyn
