Patterson, M.D., completed his fellowship at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, La. During his post-graduate training, he was selected as the inaugural Russell C. Klein Visiting Fellow for the LSUHSC Global Pulmonary Exchange Program with Ege University in Izmir, Turkey. He previously completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and medical school at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and an Eagle Scout. Before joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Patterson was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates. He is board-certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and internal medicine. His professional interests include pulmonary hypertension, venous thromboembolic disease, and critical care medicine. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and a participant in the ACCP's Pulmonary Vascular Disease One Network. Dr. Patterson enjoys cooking and travel.
