Her fellowship was completed at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh where she… Dr. Shean Aujla recently joined the MUSC family as the director of pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine. She received her M.D. from MUSC and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Connecticut. Her fellowship was completed at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh where she remained on faculty for eight years before moving to Charleston. During her time in Pittsburgh, Dr. Aujla worked in a severe asthma clinic for children that she helped to create. She also took care of several tracheostomy/ventilator-dependent children and patients with complex airway problems. She is skilled at flexible bronchoscopy which allows her to look into the airways of her patients to see if there are problems causing their respiratory symptoms. Here at MUSC, Dr. Aujla sees patients with all respiratory problems, including asthma, chronic cough, cystic fibrosis, lung disease of prematurity, and tracheostomy/ventilator-dependent children.
