She worked as a nurse in many areas of the world and then settled down in Cape Cod, MA to have children. There, she earned her Masters Degree in Nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2002. In 2004, she and her family decided to serve as full-time missionaries with Mercy Ships. They sold everything, packed up and traveled to Africa, where they served for nearly three years. In 2006, her family moved to Texas and Zana began to see the need for affordable primary care in the region. She started her own practice in 2010, and she has been growing as a provider ever since.
