After earning his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Dr. Thurman went on to complete his medical internship at United Health Service Hospitals in Binghamton, New York. He then completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the prestigious Harvard Medical School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. While at Harvard, Dr. Thurman was honored to serve as the resident team physician for the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. To further his skill set, Dr. Thurman received fellowship training in pain management at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is board-certified in pain medicine, sports medicine, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Thurman also had the opportunity to serve as a fellowship faculty instructor in the Spine and Sports Medicine Department at Harvard before going into private practice. Growing up in the mountains of Yellowstone National Park, Dr. Thurman has combined his small town bedside manner with his Ivy League training to provide compassionate, comprehensive, and innovative care to his patients. His approach is to first conduct a thorough evaluation to establish a conclusive diagnosis and then the most effective treatment. When it comes to patient care, Dr. Thurman always considers the most natural method to heal the body, which may include modalities such as physical therapy, chiropractic care, and diet modification.
