Dr. Cummings, who is a native resident of Kingwood, has extensive education and experience in his field. He began his dental education and graduated with honors from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School, in San Antonio. Dr. Cummings completed his residency in periodontics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Here, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in oral biology and advanced training in oral plastic surgery, hard-tissue grafting, and dental implants. He has also completed courses from the prestigious Misch International Implant Institute, as part of his ongoing education. Due to his outstanding achievement in periodontics, he received the Annual Student Award from the American Academy of Periodontology. In 2003, Dr. Cummings returned to his hometown of Kingwood and established his successful, progressive periodontal practice. Since then, he has successfully offered high quality, progressive periodontal care to patients of all ages using advanced technology and up-to-date techniques. He was the first dental professional in the Kingwood area to offer iCAT™ Cone Beam Dental Imaging System, an invaluable tool for planning customized care. He lectures both nationally and internationally on the topic of tissue engineering, and he holds associate clinical professor positions at the University of Texas Dental School in Houston and the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. He is also an instructor with the American Institute of Implant Dentistry in Washington, teaching advanced periodontal plastic surgical and dental procedures to dentists from around the world.
