I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with this law firm and, based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend their services.
During mediation, I felt that I was left to handle a significant portion of the communication with the mediator myself. I understand that it is normal and appropriate for a client to communicate directly with a mediator; however, my experience went far beyond simply answering questions or participating in the process. For much of the mediation, it felt as though I was the primary person going back and forth with the mediator while my attorney remained largely silent. When I raised this concern afterward, I was given the impression that this was being characterized as normal client participation. That explanation did not address the extent of what actually occurred from my perspective.
Following mediation, I was left alone in a Zoom room for more than four hours before my attorney returned with a settlement amount. That experience was frustrating and raised serious concerns for me about communication and representation.
There were also significant concerns regarding the payment terms of the agreement. My understanding of the agreement was that the opposing party had 30 days from the date all required signatures were received to make the payment. Once that 30-day period had passed, I simply asked my attorney to contact the opposing party to determine the reason for the delay. Rather than promptly addressing the issue, I was told that the opposing party had additional time. I asked where in the agreement that additional time was provided and requested that it be shown to me. I was not provided with a provision supporting that position.
At that point, I began expressing my concerns and asking reasonable questions about my case and the agreement. I was never disrespectful or inappropriate toward anyone. I was simply advocating for myself and seeking clarification regarding matters involving a substantial amount of money.
Since expressing those concerns, I have felt ignored and have had difficulty getting responses. That is unacceptable to me, particularly when I am expected to pay this firm more than $200,000 in connection with my case. A client should be able to ask questions, raise legitimate concerns, and expect professional communication without feeling that they will be ignored for doing so.
After everything I endured—from a horrible work environment and what I believe was unfair treatment—to now experiencing what I consider to be inadequate communication and representation from the law firm, I am deeply disappointed.
I am not speaking for anyone else's experience. I can only speak for my own, and unfortunately, mine was not a positive one. I am disappointed not only with the outcome, but also with how my concerns have been handled throughout this process.
Potential clients should carefully consider their options, ask detailed questions about representation and communication expectations, and make an informed decision before retaining this firm.
This review reflects my personal experience and should be considered accordingly.

They commit legal malpractice, so if you hire them, prepare to have to hire another firm to sue THEM. In my case, once they realised the Defendant wasn't going to offer a quick settlement, they stopped prosecuting the case aggressively, lied to the court in an attempt to be removed as counsel, and then ultimately intentionally sabotaged the case when it became known all parties knew they couldn't simply quit.

That last part is the part worth repeating: They INTENTIONALLY sabotaged their own case to get out of a contract they made. Nothing but a settlement mill.

I do not recommend this firm at all. After making me wait for days and wasting my time providing solid evidence, records, and details of my case, they simply declined it without giving me a clear or honest explanation. If they lacked the capacity or interest to help, they should have told me from day one instead of playing with my time and my urgent legal situation.
Furthermore, the lack of empathy and respect left me feeling deeply discriminated against as a Hispanic individual. It is completely disrespectful how they use their position as a large law firm to ignore and dismiss the time of hard-working people in our community. A big firm with a very small sense of ethics. Do not waste your time here.

My five-stars go to Aleen from your team. Not only was she smart and calculated, but she was reassuring and aggressive throughout our mediation and really fought for me and my case.

I've gone through a mediation process in the past with a different law group and my case was handed off several times before my mediation date. Having to re-live and review details over and over was tiring and felt unprofessional, so after my first attorney with Shegerian & Associates had handed me off to Aleen, I was worried I was in for a similar situation.

That feeling quickly subsided once we had our first phone call, having clearly prepared and reviewed my case thoroughly, it was easy to just fill in the few questions she had and I left that conversation even more reassured than before.

During our mediation together, the day pretty much fell right in line with Aleen's predictions and I felt confident in her abilities and handling of everything during the process. My case settled, but I was disappointed with the overall experience. I had very strong documentation and evidence supporting my case, yet much of the work—gathering materials, organizing evidence, and following up—ended up being done by me. I expected far more guidance, preparation, and strategy from the legal team.
It also seemed that the attorneys involved had limited experience with a case like mine. During mediation, something happened that made me question how the case had been evaluated and presented from the start.
Overall, the case did not receive the level of attention and experienced handling I expected. With stronger preparation and more experienced representation, I believe the outcome could have been better.
