We were honestly pretty nervous when we decided to build our home with Duke Building Co. Like a lot of people, we’d heard all the old horror stories—projects running months behind schedule, surprise cost overruns, poor communication, and subcontractors who didn’t show up. Those stories had us second-guessing our decision right up until we signed the contract.
I’m so glad we pushed through the nerves, because our actual experience could not have been more different.

From day one, Duke and their team were incredibly transparent and responsive. They walked us through every step of the process, explained things in plain English, and never made us feel like we were asking too many questions. When we had design changes or wanted to upgrade certain finishes, they were flexible and gave us clear pricing upfront—no surprises later.

The project stayed on schedule the entire time. We closed on our dream home just two weeks later than the original target date (and that was only because we added a few upgrades along the way). The quality of the workmanship is outstanding—everything from the framing to the finishes was clean, precise, and exactly what we asked for. Our project manager was fantastic; he kept us updated with regular photos and progress reports, and any small issues that came up were fixed immediately.

If you’re on the fence because of those “old stories” you’ve heard, I want you to know: not every builder is the same. Duke Building Co. restored our faith in the home-building process. We couldn’t be happier with our new home and would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.
