I've been a TD Waterhouse for the past 7 years, utilizing WebBroker as my equity trading platform.
In the past 8 month, TW Waterhouse WebBroker has proved itself to be less than 80% reliable.
Yesterday (Mar. 31st) WebBroker servers have gone in and out of service, forcing client to log in and out searching for available working server.
Today, Apr. 1st, 2009, WebBroker clients are unable to access their accounts as orders, activities, and important account information is unavailable. The system failed a few minutes after trading started this morning, and hasn’t been restored by the time this message was sent (09:00 MDT).
In the past 6 month, WebBroker was out of order for one full day of trading (less +/-15 minutes at the start of the day). Numerous times (+50), delays on TDW WebBroker translated to difficulties in placing new orders, making changes to existing orders, or viewing account information right after the market opened. I also noticed delays in order fill and order cancelation confirmations during regular trading hours. Some cancelled orders don’t get confirmed (stay Pending Cancelled) until the end of the day, resulting in the need for repeated calls to TDW’s investors help desk for confirmation.
Some servers (Soc-Line) experience a very slow refresh rate, or can only provide Portfolio View.
