Unacceptable Experience with Debroah Kitchen’s Office – Proceed with Caution
My wife was rear-ended by a driver insured through this Farm Bureau office, and the experience we’ve had with Debroah Kitchen and her team has been nothing short of frustrating. Despite the accident totaling my wife’s car and sending her to the hospital, it took 13 days and multiple calls just to get a response. They hadn’t even obtained the police report, we had to track it down and send it ourselves.
Even after they had the report, they refused to move forward until they contacted their insured. I had to push them just to do more than send a letter. During this time, my wife was without a vehicle, we had to borrow cars just so she could make it to work, and our children missed medical appointments. Thankfully, her injuries weren’t more severe.
Eventually, they accepted full liability for the accident. However, two months later, we received an ambulance bill from the Lexington Fire Department. When we contacted them about it, Debroah Kitchen said they wouldn’t cover the ambulance because Kentucky is a no-fault state. I find that completely unacceptable. If your client totals someone’s car and you accept full liability, how can you then refuse to cover their emergency transport to the hospital?
I’ve handled multiple auto claims over the years and never encountered this kind of resistance. Other Farm Bureau branches have been reasonable and professional. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. Debroah Kitchen’s office was difficult and unhelpful throughout the entire process.

I would not recommend this location. Very rude staff. Also mixed up my quote and had me down as “self employed” and told me they could not change it which made the price higher. Once I was ready to begin my policy they began adding on to the list of things I needed. Family’s insurance info, proof of purchase of car ( which you have to have insurance before even getting ha!). All in all a bad experience and undesirable service. Luckily geico here in Lexington offers rates just as low as these rude people, so we went with geico!
