Driven by the belief that every young person has the potential to impact our world, this team is dedicated to creating opportunities for growth and learning. Since their inception 19 years ago, this organization has given over $800,000 back to the community. They’ve served over 20,000 families with school supplies, meals, and more. It’s their mission to help kids succeed academically and equip them with knowledge that will help them succeed professionally. The R. Whittington Foundation offers two separate scholarships—the Ron Isley Scholarship and the Jackie Joyner Kersee Scholarship. In partnership with Harris-Stowe State University and Lindenwood University, the Foundation provides these full-ride college scholarship opportunities to students with financial need. This non-profit organization holds a variety of annual events to benefit the community. They host a toy drive during the Christmas season and a turkey drive each November, which provides meals to underserved families every Thanksgiving. The Foundation’s mentorship program includes mentor counseling, guest speakers, career tours, and more, all facilitated by experienced professionals who are passionate about helping students achieve success in their future careers.
