In addition, there are two prenatal testing rooms, a large nursery and a hydrotherapy room with a whirlpool bath to help expectant mothers manage labor pains. The Family Birth and Newborn Center also features its own cesarean birth suite, including an operating and recovery room, so cesarean section deliveries can be performed within the security of the unit. In preparation for birth, the Family Birth and Newborn Center staff offers an array of prenatal education classes, including six-week labor and delivery classes, breastfeeding classes, free car seat checks, infant/child CPR classes, and parenting and sibling classes. Patient safety is paramount in any care setting, but it's a heightened concern throughout pregnancy and childbirth. The Family Birth and Newborn Center at LVH–Hazleton is a secured unit only accessible through a monitored intercom system, so you can rest assured you and your baby will have a safe and comfortable birthing experience.
