So far it has been a good experience. Both Micah and Alex have been helpful. I'm a bilateral amputee so I actually had to replace the one I had made for my right leg a couple of years ago. Then this past May I had my left leg amputated so we had to get both fitted at the same time. I still have some issues but because I have also hurt my right shoulder during all of this after falling several times when I had my right leg amputated in 2017. By the way I moved to Virginia in 2023 to live with my daughter because of my health and as I stated had my right leg amputated while living in my home state of Georgia. The staff here have been great. I read some negative comments that are about 5 years old, but,I can tell you from my experience every one has been very helpful. I have to return for a check up and some adjustments after I have my shoulder fixed. Thank you Uva Prosthetics and orthotics.

Had bellow the knee amputated at end of October, the surgeon was awsum, no complaints at all. 2 weeks after stitches were removed and referred to the prosthetic department, That's when it went to hell, the prosthetic lady that was working with us was a nightmare! After many visits we released them on January 2. In 2 months of visiting them I was no closer to having my leg than I was after surgery. She was disorganized and had no idea what she was doing, in that time they had never gotten anything approved by my insurance co!!!!. I was recommended by my primary to a business located in my home town. 20 min vs 2 hour drive, anyway since dealing with my new Orthotics Dr. , I will have my new leg on Tuesday next week, they do everything in house and my insurance has approved it! But due to the incompetence of UVA Orthotics I have a co pay now, if they had done their job better I would not have had a Co Pay do to me already meeting my Deductible for the 2025 year! They just flat out suck, I am angry, all I wanted was my leg in a timely fashion. Their was no urgency, guess not worried cause she had her legs and that's all that matters, my message to anyone who reads this dont use them, check for someone else so you dont have to go through what I did.

Dr. Gracyn is amazing. Very informative and kind. She even went the extra mile to help me out when I experienced a problem with my insurance (Sports Medicine's fault, not UVA P+O's) which prevented me from picking up my knee brace the day I had my appointment by shipping it to me (I live an hour and 15 minutes away). I very much appreciated her and the front desk's assistance dealing with the whole situation. Thanks!

I got the pleasure or working with Gracyn, a real gem. My old knee brace was starting to drive me crazy. Instead of supporting my knee it would literally just slide down my leg. I met Gracyn and it was like God sent me an angel. Very attentive, informative and listening to my needs for a new brace. When there was a small dilemma about which provider should authorize my new brace. Gracyn call me personally with an update and had all my information stored for my next visit.

I felt well informed and im happy with my new brace.

Also the whole staff was really nice.

No one informed me it would take "about 4 weeks" until after I paid for my initial visit ($200 at the visit, $200 once you actually get the orthotic). They actually took 5 weeks to make, and THEN I was told we need to schedule another appointment, earliest available was the following week.

At this point, it has been 40 days, I have invested considerable money with more to pay, and I still do not have my orthotics, as when I was finally able to try them on, they didn't fit well. So, my feet still hurt. They have me scheduled for next week after they cast a new one in-house so I don't have to wait another month.

The staff there are very nice and pleasant, so I gave an extra star, but the overall experience has been incredibly disappointing and medically useless for a month and a half.
