I'm personally grateful for this program. I have been struggling with addiction for as long as I can remember. All the ladies in this program are amazing. I have up most respect Dede she is an amazing person. She has some of the nicest sober living houses I have ever seen.

There have been salacious rumors being posted from people who are vindictive and hateful so I wanted to set the record straight. Shaylin’s Floyd’s life is being blasted all over the internet by some very petty women. Shaylin was arrested in January not march for various charges which were all dismissed. She has been nothing but an asset to our staff members. She teaches class in a way that gets you excited about recovery because she is excited about it. These people got let go from this program for various reasons and have decided to lash out. AA is supposed to be about forgiveness not petty slander because they did things to dishonor the program. One of these women was so obsessed with Shaylin and Dede that it was borderline psychotic and for some strange reason thought she was staff. She would actually say this to new clients! This is the true story. Take it or leave, but they have all helped me immensely.

I am new to this program and because of false statements and manipulation by a certain client, we have not been able to focus on recovery 100 % because Dede and Shaylin have had to make sure that the lives that they are responsible for are protected. This they have done quickly and efficiently. Now we can resume why we are here. I am personally hurt by this client because she told bold face lies and even went as far as telling me she was basically a house manager when she was the same as me. I started seeing through some of it when her obsession with the owner Dede became quite alarming. To the client that got discharged, shame on you for your lies and manipulation and chaos. If I were new to recovery, you would have been the reason I relapsed. You don't play with people's lives. I'm just thankful that Dede and Shaylin understand addiction and the harm that you caused and worked efficiently and quickly to put a stop to you and any further harm you could have caused. As a recovering fellow addict I don't wish any bad on.you. I truly hope you get the help that you need. Unfortunately, I don't think our program is equipped to handle you and you may need a "Higher level of Care.'

I stayed at Altruism for a while, and I personally saw things that were completely unprofessional. Dede was involved with a client, and when another girl secretly recorded me talking about it, I was discharged. That place is bad news. They even allowed a girl to keep her narcotic cough medicine and she ended up overdosing and passing away. Instead of being honest, Dede told the girls to lie and say it was natural causes. I know the truth because I personally spoke with her mom, and it was an overdose. That’s heartbreaking. On top of that, I’ve seen Dede out at a bar with a blonde woman, drinking and kissing while she’s supposed to be running a recovery program. Honestly, I’m glad I got discharged. It saved me a lot of grief.

This lady Dede is a total scam she literally forces people to do more classes to take money from our medical card. I started with my normal bit of classes, once I finished them she said she reccomends a outpatient service which was 6 more classes. I do all of this to be told that I had to do 4 more classes, so even then I went back did those 4 for her to tell me that I still have 5 more classes that needs to be completed before I get my certificates. None of it makes since counting everything total now it has been 55 classes and she refused to give me my certificates. She is doing this bc they are getting paid by our medical cards and making up classes that needs to be done, and forcing us to take extra classes she reccomends is not ok this is considered fraud! I know I am just complaining right now on here but I will call everybody I can think of to get a investigation started ! Me and 3 different people from 2 different groups are making a complaint! This is crazy I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE !

I came into treatment because of probation. I thought I'll suffer through 6 months of these classes and check it off my list of things ordered from the court. As time went on, Ms. Dede made me realize that I want and need a clean and sober lifestyle. She and her staff helped me so much at a time when I felt lost and unsure of what my life would be like without drugs. I'm now 227 days clean because of the counseling I received at Altruism Counseling and I'll be forever grateful ❤️

It was a joke. I was only supposed to take the required dui class. During “evaluation” she found out I was with Medicaid. Suddenly she thinks I had a bigger addiction problem and needed an extra class for 10 weeks. During those classes I learned to… watch movies on Netflix, or prime, or whatever she could find related to addiction to get up on the tv. As she sat back reading her emails shes making a few thousand dollars a day off the states funds and the group we had , and she had barely any discussion with the group. She is abusing welfare and court’s system to make easy money. Also look at her glass door reviews from past employees. I witnessed her going off on an employee before a meeting once, it wasn’t pretty. I really hope she loses her license because people actually need help and she’s just reaping the benefits of the helpers without even trying to help. Another thing, it’s not smart for an “addiction counselor” to be ripping fat hits off a modded vape making huge clouds during “class” then snap on someone taking a small hit off a small vape and doing their best to not disrupt. She would regularly cancel classes last minute. And I mean, within the hour of the class. She wouldn’t every let us use the restrooms in her facility, she would make us take multiple flights of stairs down to the “public” restrooms. These people in these classes aren’t sketchy street people. They’re the people who ended up with a dui and trying to get everything straight by the book. But were treated with this underlying “but you’re here for a reason”… yeah you booked me for extra services to get an extra check from the state.

I was recovering from The shock of my first DUI in April. My attorney suggested I start IOP immediately. The place in Frankfort was full till July so I discovered Altruism Counseling in Lexington. The room was full of problem addicts and alcoholics and Dede Stratton was our teacher. She was one of us and easy to trust and easy to relate to. We were able to tell her what was going on in our lives and she had answers and solutions to help us with certain situations. She knew very much about the alcoholics anonymous and narcotics anonymous programs. If I ever run into a person needing drug and alcohol assistance or training, I am going to refer them to Dede immediately. Her and my classmates have been a instrumental tool in my early recovery

I appreciate Ms. Dede, Ms. Emily, & Ms. Kim for hosting me and accepting me into their program. Every time I went the vibes were pleasant & non judgmental, & the lessons we went through were genuine, not just watch this video or read this text and respond. The conversations were in depth, & sometimes personal, but the atmosphere is so calming it helps you to ease into comfortability with expressing your public mishaps for good natured advisories. I recommend this class for anyone who really wants to connect & learn and also change their lifestyle. Good luck to you future students and thank you again ladies.

Terrible experience. One person running the entire show and won’t take the time to listen to independent needs. I’m an out of state case that requires no court involvement. I was refused an evaluation due to not having the Kentucky paperwork regardless that this was a Colorado case from 7 years ago. I called before hand to verify and received zero recognition or active listening from Dede. Even though I checked before hand, she kept my appointment which I took work off for. She then cancelled face to face stating she cannot help although I directly stated my scenario before going more than once. I do not genuinely feel this service cares beyond signing you up for their DUI classes. Completely uninterested in the fact I’ve been clean for 6.5 years. Wish everyone the best in their healing and I hope this office works for you, but it didn’t for me.

Thought these classes would be long and boring but the teacher, Emily is so delightful and a pleasure to be around I enjoyed being there. The lesson book they taught was very educational and something I’ll always remember and think back to.

Dee Dee was very helpful with navigating the process of attending classes and assisting me with getting my license back. The classes were informative and helpful and I learned a lot about myself. She is a great counselor and explains concepts well. She really cares about you.
