The practicality of many of these homes is diminished and their use of space and resources become frivolous. I have no intention to disparage the “mansion”. On many occasions I have enjoyed my role with a team of craftsman in the creation of some beautiful and extravagant structures. But I have also built houses where size seems to be the main criteria. And with many of these, the use of cheap and imitation materials fails to impart a “soul” to the structure, a metamorphosis from house to a home. At Destiny Bay Construction and Woodworks, I hope to focus on the smaller house, the cottage, using resources to enhance and develop style both within and without the house.
