The Burkhart Company was founded in 1977 by Tom Burkhart in Louisville, Kentucky. Tom always had a passion for custom woodworking, having picked up his first power saw at the age of nine. After studying woodworking at the Penland School of Craft, Tom turned his passion into a business.
