As a retired Navy Seal veteran with a disability, Schroeder initially produced the mailboxes locally but later handed over production to the Crisp Family. In 1997, Mike and Janet Crisp, along with their son Mike Crisp, Jr., expanded the product line, introducing new designs and enhancing security features. Since then, Fort Knox Mailbox has grown, with tens of thousands of units shipped across America and abroad. Each mailbox undergoes meticulous production stages, including cutting, welding, and powder coating, ensuring durability and security.
